There's an ex fighter and trainer by the name of Burke Emery who owns a bar down the street from where I live. Burke is Canadian and fought as a Light Heavy during the 50's. Burke told me he knew Greco. Said Greco was a real nice guy. Said his fights with Armand Savoie in Canada were classics. Greco was popular in Canada and had a big French Canadian following . Said Greco was still fighting, but was starting to go downhill when he was killed in a car accident. I can see Burke any time. If you have any specific questions about Greco(or any Canadian fighter)let me know. Burke is a walking encyclopedia on boxing during the 50's,60's,and 70's.
Burke cleared me up on something. George Parnassus owned Arguello and put together his fight with Hafey in Nicauagra. I thought it was Wes Wambold. Burke was against taking that fight.

when I was researching Gilroy's career, it amazed me, and I was glad to see the amount of Canadian fighters in the Ring's Top 10 1940s, MOST of them in the lower weights LW - WW and most of them from or fought out of Montreal, but by God there were a good few of them...All well known and great fighters.

All I really know about Greco is that he was considered a tough and rugged brawler. Beyond that.. not much.

I remember our last correspondence. I think it was several months ago. Burke is even more distant now than before. When I asked him about Leslie Borden,he paused and then said for ME to say hello to him. Very sad.
Also he still complains about the stoppage in Scotland with his bout with Chic Calderwood. "They wouldn't have stopped it here on a cut." says Burke.
