How many current British fighters have beaten a top #5 fighter in his weight devision at the relative peak of his powers?

Yes, its one fight and his overall resume isn't impressive - but several people gave Mbaye a shout against Witter prior to that fight.

One win in world class for me is better than several at British or European class.

If Skelton does a sensation - watch him rapidly rise up the rankings - and deservedly so IMO.

Pound for pound, I'd rate Amir Khan higher than Gavin Rees. I'd also rate Khan higher than Thaxton, based on their 2007 fights.

He is the WBA champion, that is good enough to get him a top 10 ranking in my opinion.

hey how come mickey hunter moved up a place, he never boxed?
i thought i was one of the ones who had a pretty decent handle on the rules of this thing whereas some of you tend to get in a flap over things.

it doesn't bother me in the slightest but i can't think of anything more interesting to say about it right now.

apart from David Haye being our 3rd best boxer despite a leaky defence and questionable stamina. I think Woods is better, and as for Kevin Anderson getting totally kicked out in the cold like an jilted old girlfriend, well..................madness.

Arthur was a good British, Commonwealth and European champion before becoming WBO interim champion, so that is why he got the nod from me, it is close between the three of them though.

Well Rees did pull off a huge upset considering that he mostly fought In 6 rounders so 10's not a bad rating.

Khan Is more talented though.

This list is based largely around achievments and Rees being the WBA champion, with a win over a top 5 fighter in his division, is a far more than Khan has managed so far.

Khan is an active and talented fighter, if he keeps on winning against decent opposition then he could well overtake Rees soon.

Hunter moved up because Eastman moved down.

Haye beat the linear champion at his weight, away from home, via knockout. This was a massive achievement and neither Woods or Witter have achieved anything in the same league as that.

As for Anderson, he is currently ranked at No.28. The nature of his defeat to another British fighter, who was not in the Top 30 at the time, meant that he had to fall a significant amount. I do not think I was unfair.

That's fair enough. I believe that P4P lists should take into account ability as well as achievements, so that's why those two rankings really stood out to me.

Mitchell has not entered the Top 30 yet. He needs a big win or a series of Commonwealth defences to break into the list.
