I would favor Curry to beat Forrest. Good fight, though.

Yeah, I'm glad to see Forrest get a second chance. Luckily for him there are no Mike McCallum's in the Jr. Middleweight division today, which is one of the weaker divisions in boxing right now. Curry did pick up a belt at 154 but didn't hold on to it for long, we'll see if Forrest can be more successful there.

Colin Jones was nothing like Baldomir.

He was a stalking textbook fighter with terrific punching power and good offensive skills, albeit one-dimensional.

IMO watching Forrest's incompetent and panicky displays against the even more limited and sloppy Mayorga(who was nothing like Honeyghan either)it's difficult to imagine he would not have even more difficulty with Jones than McCrory did, so i wouldn't use him to seperate the two.

Agreed.

Believe it or not I only saw Curry-Jones for the first time a couple of weeks ago on youtube. Good performance by Curry, and Jones was a very competent fighter.

The point I was trying to make was that Forrest has shown the ability to handle a raging bull like Caldormir, whereas McCrory was simlpy outmuscled by a much smaller Jones. Jones, Baldomir and Mayorga are about the same level but I think Jones is the least threaning of them. IMO Jone's a little bit textbooky, and is not cut in the mold of a rough and tumbel warrior like Maorga or Baldomir. Mayorga--as crude as he is--can take out any opponent with a single shot. Jones didn't not have a single-knockoutpunch like that. He threw like over thousnad punches and still couldnt beat down that old man Stracey. It it was Mayorga in there Stracey would carried out in the 3 or 4 th round
Jones never fought Stracey, he did knockout Kirkland Laing twice when trailing on points, he could hit, make no mistake.
