joeymc,
There have been many books written about Jack Dempsey.
There is a book by Roger Kahn called "A Flame of Pure Fire: Jack Demspey and the Roaring 20's" that came out a few years ago that was pretty good.
In the book by Jack Cavanaugh on Gene Tunney that came out a year or 2 ago, there was a lot about Dempsey; almost as much as there was on Tunney.
Dempsey had an autobiography (I believe written in the 1970's) that was interesting.
You might also be interested in Peter Hellers' book "In This Corner". Several former champions say what they want to say about their career. Dempsey had a few pages in it.
Hope this helps.

Kahns's book is filled with mistakes.
He says Philadelphia Jack O'Brien was "lightweight champion."
Benny Leonard was a "welterweight."
He skips over the Fred Fulton fight completely.
etc etc
He was a baseball writer who wrote a well known book on the Brooklyn Dodgers.
The two books Tunney wrote are filled with info on Dempsey.
Grantland Rice has a chapter on Dempsey in a book of his on sports figures.
Paul Gallico has a chapter on Dempsey in a book of his on sports figures.
There are lots of films of Dempsey training, especially hitting the heavy bag.
Dempsey wrote a book on boxing instruction that is locatable.

The Khan book does have its mistakes but so does every book.
Randy Roberts book on Jack Johnson for example makes the mistake of thinking Jim Barry was a black fighter, because he had fought so many black fighters. One mistake does not damn a book.
Khan's book is a solid book on dempsey.
There's a book on Dempsey called Kid Blackie that dwells on his early ring career. Not a masterpiece in style but it does provide some fresh details...

His book is riddled with mistakes.
Twice he wites that Sugar Ray Robinson "hammered Jake LaMotta to the canvas."
Khan's skipping over the Fulton fight shows he doesn't have a clue what is significant in Dempsey's career.
