Post by Italian 4 U »

Middles: Monzon, Hagler, Ray Robinson, and maybe Leonard

Light Heavies and 190 pound heavies: Archie Moore, Bob Foster (maybe), Ezzard Charles and Rocky Marciano(Definitely) and maybe Floyd Patterson.

Michael spinks spinks jinx would have been to much for Roy as well, and unlike Roy spinks would go after the best availabe competition, spinks credentials spek for itself.

tommy hearns was one of the best fighters ever. a very underrated fighter. however, NOBODY outside of a few natural heavyweights could ever beat roy jones. roy jones is too good for his own bad. he's been the most dominant figher ever ( he hardly ever loses a round). jones is one of the top 5 all time greats.

There is only one without any doubt in my own mind and that is Rocky Marciano I would have predicted a tko in 10 in that one.

Ummm Flex, I think KO punch is talking about 190lb heavyweights as that is what the thread is about.

I feel at lightheavyweight foster, spinks, conn, and possibly greb had the styles to beat him. Foster would track him with the jab from the outside, forcing him to come inside, thus luring roy onto the left hook. Spinks had the size skill, and all round ability to test roy to the limit. Spinks also had the skillful unorthodoxy to in turn frustrate jones. Conn could match roy for speed, and ive always thought that a brilliant scientific boxer with the old-school left lead, with a solid basic technique can do this then he would have the beating of roy, who despite his great speed, power, and athleticism, is fundamentally quite flawed technically. As for smaller heavyweights, i see dempsey, tunney charles, and maybe walcott beating him [marciano is too predictable and crude].

Hearns and Hagler are the only 2 guys that could maybe beat RJJ.
