Stuart Elwell's title shot.

Post by stujones »

Stuart Elwell is apparently fighting in the Ukraine a week tomorrow (on Eurosport) for the WBA Intercontinental Welter title.

Hard ask Senchsko who has impressed me in defending his weird European External Union belt on Eurosport.

good, he needs a meaningful fight or his career will drift into ignomy whilst some gobsh*te will try to talk themself into a title shot. There's one or 2 about.

sounds harsh considering Stu' boxed for the English title 12 months ago going down on points to O'Donnell. Stuart lost on points but in actual fact was on the end of it from round 4 onwards. He said afterwards that he felt a bit ill or weight drained but I just thought O'Donnell was more skillful.

I think at around 30 if I'm right Elwell is right to take the risk, he was out of the sport after a promising amateur career while he was in the marines I think and to come back after a 2 or 3 year break seems pointless if he's not going to try and get somewhere.

Seems like a game sort who'll fight anyone, well doesn't seem it , he is game. Good luck to him :TU:
