I think people have written off Macklin after the crushing defeat to Jamie Moore but when fighters suffer that kind of defeat it can either make or break them. In Macklin's case I think its the former. Earlier in his career I saw he had some excellent boxing skills (albeit at a lower level) to go with his aggressive "billy graham" style. He fights Campas on saturday in a decent match-up: okay he's a fairly heavy favourite but if he can beat Campas in dominating fashion thats a good result IMO - Campas is still tough as old boots. I think Macklin has the ability to reach the fringes of World class - I defnitely give him a good shot at beating Sylvester(European Champ) who Macklin should be aiming for. Anyone else agree?

Campas should give him one hell of a fight. I had Campas winning against Duddy in late 2006 and I was rather surprised when Campas got stopped against Asikainen but I don't know whether the stoppage was controversial or not, given that I didn't see the fight. Campas is like a contender gatekeeper in the middleweight division and is still very hard to beat.
