John Ruiz vs. 1970's George Foreman

Post by Newbie »

Today's John Ruiz vs. 1970's George Foreman. What would your prediction of the match have been.

I say Foreman by Unamious Decision.

How about Roy Jones Jr. or Lennox Lewis vs. a 1970's George Foreman.

I hesitate to imagine what a present day Roy Jones Jr. would have done to a 1970's George Foreman. The spectacle would most assuredly have provided those who would like to see the sport of boxing banned with considerable ammunition. Roy Jones Jr. would have showed George Foreman what real POWER was all about. (Hint: speed=power. George Foreman never had the hand speed to justify his being called a KO artist.)

George Foreman couldn't punch hard simply because he lacked the hand speed. Roy Jones Jr., on the other hand, has speed and would have flattened George Foreman even if he stood flat-footed with him in the center of the ring and traded bombs. Also, he could have eaten Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson alive even on the inside.

However, I still think George Foreman could have won a unanimous decision over John Ruiz and maybe boxed to a draw against Lennox Lewis.

Jones is not stupid enough to get in the ring with Lewis, let alone a 1970s Foreman.

Ruiz WDQ2.

Foreman hits him on the beltline and Ruiz collapses to the canvas. The ref buys it, and hands the fight to Ruiz.

I wouldn't give any better than 6 to 5 for Ruiz to beat TODAY'S George Foreman.

As for Jones vs. 1970 Foreman, first you'd have to find the five guys it wouild take to get Jones into the ring.
