MARGARITO v CINTRON 2

Surprising move by Cintron, taking the rematch after such a one sided hammering last time out. It makes for an interesting fight on the Cotto undercard.

Like most, I think he's heading for a career ending beating here - he just doesn't appear mentaly strong enough to cope with the Tijuana Tornado.

Plus the sight of Kermit, melodramatically rolling around on the canvas like he was at death's door, holding his damaged hand after his last fight,
makes me think he's not cut out for the heat he's got coming his way on Sat.

Has Manny Steward got it wrong again? Or has KC actually got a plan this time round....

I'm a massive Cintron fan, and despise Margarito as a "the most feared fighter in boxing". Please, the guy lost to Daniel Santos!

I'm starting to wonder, after the Lee fight, how much talent Steward still has. He managed to eradicate Taylor's jab, which was the best out there.

I'm still gonna go with Cintron for this, though. I think he's learned from the first fight and I respect him for wanting this fight badly enough to essentially risk his future in the division. If he loses, I suspect he'll move up to 154 where it's devoid of a great deal of talent.

You'll get nice odds if you fancy Cintron in this one..

And yes, you have to admire his guts in taking this, but I think he's making a Carl Johansson type mistake here - sounds a good idea at a distance, but when he gets in the ring, the reality hits home.

I've gone for Margarito in the PTBF, but I want Cintron to win. Cintron did act strangely against Feliciano, but we know that he did in fact damage ligaments in his hand.

What I find strange about the Feliciano fight, is that it looked like Cintro hurt his hand in round 2, yet he claims it was round 1, even though he was punching fine at the end of round 1. In round 2 he punched Feliciano very hard and immediately shook his hand and then didn't use it again for the rest of the round.

Can't stand Cintron. I just don't like his lack of poise in the ring. He nearly started crying on the floor after beating Jesse Feliciano.

Cintron was the strong favourate in the first match if I remember correctly. He simply got overwhelmed but if he boxes smart and smashes Margarito in the way in he maybe able to outclass Marg. I'm not sure what to make of either fighter. Sometimes Marg looks like the world's most relentless pressure fighter who works his way in well and seems like a brute at the weight but I question his skill, maybe its enough maybe not. Cintron sometimes looks like Tommy Hearns but doesnt seem to be able to make the step up in class so far and his temperament is questionable.

Cintron's struggle with Feliciano posed many more questions than answers didn't it? Maybe just a bad night, in fact i think this will be closer than the first one-sided drubbing and Cintron might be a sneaky outside bet at decent odds.

Get the winner in with Clottey, surely he is overdue a crack at something by now?

Good call Steve 689 on Clottey.

Shame Gomez is fighting Cotto also... I think Gomez is possibly the only series one Contender who has the making to be a geniune world class... I'd like his chances vs Cintron. Who isn't convincing if someone can take his power.

Margarito ISN'T all that... sure he is a big, strong, lad and sometimes can look mighty impressive when he has a limited boxer next to him. However, what he does have is a very good chin... can see him taking over by the 5th and stopping Cintron in the 6th/7th.

Really can't see Cintron winning this fight. He looked mentally broken against Margarito first time round. Fascinating to wonder why they've taken the rematch.
