agree, but even Joe looked physically good at the weigh in... dont think that has happened beforeMightyWarrior wrote:Hop's mind games aren't working on Calzaghe, which must piss him off a little. Joe looked completely at ease for the weigh in, no troubles at all.
He's too sure of himself in the ring to ever let BHop get too him mentaly.
Hopkins looks cut from stone.
Joe is hard to crack mentally, he hasnt lost for 17 years... that must give you some serious self belief!!!!!
The weigh in took place immediately at the start of the program. As said both made 173 but Hopkins looking very muscular and quite a bit bigger than Calzaghe. When the face off came Hopkins gave it the cold stare while Calzaghe rolled his shoulders and smirked at B-Hop. allegedly had his hand between them the whole time and someone from Goldenboy (Richard Shaefer?) looked terrified something was going to kick off. Sadly what the fighters said to each other was inaudible.
After the weigh in, the two american fellas talking over the weigh in said they swayed towards Hopkins after what they had just seen, they must be going on the size difference. Never heard of them before mind.
Michael J. Fox was there and looks as young as ever, also Michael Buffer is back and sounding as if he is all better.

Naz looks BIG...in good form though, chatting like it was the old times...says he's NOT retired, just resting! ho hoknockout wrote:how big was Naz looking??MightyWarrior wrote:Good to see the reclusive Naz in the crowd on Sky, turned over for the weigh in, and there's Barrera.
so are him and Ryan still buddies? i lost track or the sheffield winkobank soap opera :-)
Still good mates with RR too, praising him to the skys.
Just watched it and I'm really happy. Joe looked very confident and like he really can't wait to get in the ring. Hopkins look dejected after seeing that Joe is not intimidated, so Hopkins' pre-fight efforts have all been in vain.
I can't wait for the fight.
And Hopkins didn't look huge compared to Calzaghe. There wasn't much of a size difference, apart from what you'd expect.

Of course there wouldn't be a huge size difference... Hopkins is the career Middle, Joe the Career Super Middle.Asterix wrote:Just watched it and I'm really happy. I know Hopkins used a bodybuilding coach to make the jump to light heavy, it tells in his physique but has Joe used weights to make the jump up? I've read he has never used weights throught his career.
Seems i'm seeing something different, when they stood face on with the camera B-Hop looked the physically bigger man. Calzaghe didn't have the bulging arms and chest like Hopkins. Not that i'm saying this is anything of an advantage just B-Hop looked bigger to me.

I've been one of those who's been swaying back and forth regarding the outcome but I have to say that based on these pics (http://www.fightnewsextra.com/cc/FIGHTS ... opkins.htm) I've never seen Joe look in better shape or more fired up for a bout.
He's going to do this....
He's going to do this....
Good crowd by the look of things, slightly less obnoxiouse htan hatton fans. It just looked like joe didn't want to play Hopkin's stairing game and was having a laugh.stujones wrote:Anyone seen this on Youtube... its really funny.
The Brits start singing "he's got a pineapple on his head" when Shannon Briggs was introduced to the crowd..... Brilliant. Poor old Jason Lee.
