Joe Calzaghe says he'll be starting his own promotional company, 'Calzaghe Promotions', in the near future.

Why? Every big boxer starts promotion outfits these days.

Difference is that he will have Warrens blessing and help and it will probably be a big success.

He does seem to have lost the plot lately, this guy (Calzaghe).

Why? Don't think it's arrogant to start promoting other fights? What is he supposed to do, just say thanks and disappear?
He said a few cocky things but that's all self promotion. We want monks in this country, and even then aren't satisfied.

Warren said he wants to make him a partner or something and give him his own branch.

No. Not if he's only got one more fight to go. Even if he fights twice, I'm sure he'd stay with Warren to see his career out.
I don't see how moving into promotion is losing the plot. He'll have guys from his Dad's gym. He'll probably have Warren's backing, maybe in return for a slice of the pie if a fighter reaches the big stage.
