Well, of course there are 2 big world title fights coming up which will be critical... should Lockett and/or Arthur pull off the huge upset.

Who should he sign?
Mmm... Interesting.. Well of course, he could try and get a piece of Haye. There are not too many prospects out there - on a world wide scale... let alone domestically. Paul Appleby could provide some excitement. I'd love to see Guzman fight here more often (or just fight more often). Any chance Valero could get a licence here?

He should keep an eye on the Beijing Olympics and target the likes of Frankie Gavin & Co.

Frank's done a great job recently (and as someone that criticised him relentlessly, that's a real volte-face), he's always paid his fighters well and the normal tendency for fighters who leave him, is to believe like Hamed and Hatton is that they no longer need him - probably right in Ricky's case.

Therefore, he will continue to be our dominant promoter - he doesn't (by his own admission) know much about the technical aspects of boxing, but if I was advising any of the Beijing Olympic candidates, I'd tell them to get a good lawyer to read the contract, but ultimately sign with him.

I hate to be controversial, but don't you think this question is better posed at Hennessy and Hobson ?
If we're talking about comparing strength of depth then these guys are in the kids paddling pool, not even the shallow end in comparison.
Warren is No 1 UK by a mile, and when the talent starts filtering through, as it inevitably will, Warren will select and acquire the cream of the crop.
Unless Calzaghe signs them all first !!!!

People were saying this about David Haye after Thompson.

Personally, I don't think he can.... but he is a talent and I don't think should be written off completely.

Of course anyone signing a contract should get it looked over by a lawyer, but also you don't get many boxers slagging off Warren for ripping them off. He does seem to pay the main events what there worth.

He's complained of strained relations with his tea-boy who he insists is simply a mug, in a mug's game. He doesn't care if the new recruit is black, white or earl gray as long as he can boil a kettle. The notion Spud could apply is a saucer of much laughter.

Anyone know if any of the top class British amateurs will turn pro after Beijing or will they hang on for the glory of 2012?

I read your intention being to demonstrate his stable was in decline with certain high profile losses and elite fighters at the end of the road.
My point was simply that other UK Promotors are in the same situation but that Warren's position is stronger than the others.
If Clinton does retire then who headlines for Dennis ?
If Froch loses who headlines for Hennessy ?
On the subject of Clinton, I am waiting to hear the outcome of these blood tests.
If they prove Clinton had a strain of meningitis in him when he fought it explains his apparent lethargy.

I don't think there's much issue about the money - Warren is pretty good for the fighters, except in the sense that he tries ever so hard to keep them out of competitive match ups wherever possible!

I think this is a good point, whilst there will always be the big money to be made turning pro, I can see a fair few of this years Olympians waiting for 2012 and the chance to win gold in London
