Did you contimplate adding Choi to your rankings.... cause you do have some fighter who are ineligable for the British title in your list.Horse wrote:It somewhat justified me not ranking him, but I wanted Matthews to win so I was not glad.sweetscience wrote:i bet your glad matthews got beat
Not a dig, just a question.
Naseem Hamed has to have a comeback fight before I consider entering him in my list. He would have to beat someone very good to get a top 5 ranking.Lenny wrote:Ah yes, the monthly rankings, i'll start it off...
Wayne McCullough??? Scott Harrison???
Did you hear Naz say he hadn't retired, think you should have him in your top5

That is a difficult question. I tried, but I was unable to come up with a suitable answer. If you have any more specific questions, I will try to answer those questions.twenty six wrote:Horse,
What system do you use to reach your conclusions ?
You may have answered this before if you have my apologies.
If I'm gonna be constructive, I need to know your methodology.
Perhaps, I was unable to answer the question because I don't have a specific system. I try to take everything into account when I make a judgement, and that may come across as inconsistent when trying to come up with a methodology.
However, an important part of my judgement is the level of opposition of the fighters, so top prospects who haven't fought anyone of note may be a lot lower on my list than they are elsewhere. I also don't like shooting fighters up and down the rankings based on the result of one fight (although sometimes I have to). I hope this last paragraph somewhat answers part of your question.

OK - so basically it's just your opinion.
That's not having a dig, Horse, but I fail to see the relevence of this if there's no methodology behind it.
It's like me saying Rhodes should be above Moore cos a/ he's Brit Champ b/ Moore is inactive due to injury and his plans for the next 6 months include an 8 rounder against TBA and an Irish title aginst Healy who, with respect, hardly has a record to cause stirrings.
That 3rd para is for you Hook - didn't want to disappoint you !

No, I do not consider Choi to be British or Irish.stujones wrote:Did you contimplate adding Choi to your rankings.... cause you do have some fighter who are ineligable for the British title in your list.Horse wrote:It somewhat justified me not ranking him, but I wanted Matthews to win so I was not glad.sweetscience wrote:i bet your glad matthews got beat

I try to answer all questions Captain. Sometimes it just takes me a while.Captain Hook wrote:Can you answer twentysix's question please, because it's something I've asked myself previously.
Woolcombe was likely considered the weakest British champion by most, so even a convincing win over Woolcombe was not enough to push Rhodes into the top 30. Perhaps, if he makes a defence of his title that will be enough to put him into the top 30.Captain Hook wrote:And I presume twentysix will be wondering where Rhodes is?
Moore moved into the top 10 because I moved Rees out after his loss to Kotelnik.Captain Hook wrote:I must also ask how Moore has moved into the top 10 having not fought for months?
I'm a fan of his, many of us are, but to do nothing and move upwards?
It was always going to be "just" my opinion, how would it work if it wasn't my opinion? What methodology would make it relevant?twenty six wrote:OK - so basically it's just your opinion.

It is kind of like that, though I would disagree with you for doing that.twenty six wrote:It's like me saying Rhodes should be above Moore cos a/ he's Brit Champ b/ Moore is inactive due to injury and his plans for the next 6 months include an 8 rounder against TBA and an Irish title aginst Healy who, with respect, hardly has a record to cause stirrings.

I believe Khan's recent opposition is about as good if not better than Lynes's recent opposition. Lynes is supposed to be fighting Branco this month, so he can move above Khan with a good result in that fight.DavidPayne wrote:Khan above Lynes? Lynes is European Champion and took the WBC champion to points.
Khan has....beaten lots of featherweights?
Harrison could well fall a good number of places this month, if all the results go the right way, and McCullough could drop a bit as well.DavidPayne wrote:McCullough and Harrison cannot appear in a topical list, they just cant.
I may have to consider setting a rule of removing fighters after three years of inactivity, if neither fighter looks likely to leave the list before that deadline.

It is utterly pointless but you have to admire his enthusiasm. It's like watching a spider with two legs crawl up the side of a bath that's been sprayed with baby oil.....
