Thaxton - Meager Rematch

Post by m1kee50 »

25th July - I know its a long way off but what do we reckon? If Thaxton can impress, can he talk himself back into a fight with Khan?

I don't think that's a good fight for Meager.

I just reckon Thaxton will do it again - and more convincingly.

I think it might be a bit closer to be honest but probably the same end result.

Meager cut him last time - even though he didn't have much success over the 12 rds - and Thaxton has the scar tissue. Think Meager can win this one on cuts. Thaxton's hard to budge but he has the bad shoulder and the skin that rips open and he won't be fighting much longer IMO.

I know Dom Ingle was right to pull Jono out vs Romanov - the cut was massive - but it was weird hearing him say, "You've got the rest of your career ahead" and "save to fight another day." There isn't much left.

Oh BTW, pretty pointless rematch. There's more deserving British title challengers. This will put the Murray-Fewkes winner and the Limond-Earl winner on the backburner which is unfortunate.
