All these rankings are totally inaccurate and pointless as usual.

Boxers are put in the weight division of there last International bout. While that might not be there most common fighting weight it is the weight that they last competed in!

Frankie Gavin last bout was at 64kg in Gee-Bee Tournament - Helsinki, Finland - April 25-27 2008.

Same goes for Zou Shiming who is Light Flyweight 48 kg champion, but fights at Flyweight 51 kg in most tournaments.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, i would like to hear your reasons, instead of your pointless posts as usual!

The rankings dont make any difference to anything, its just fun, http://www.ababoxing.com is an Unofficial Independent website it is not the AIBA.

At the end of the day no rankings posted anywhere will please everyone. You only have to look at all the professional associations rankings to see the difference. Every country and every boxer thinks they sould be higher than they are.

You can use them as a guide or not, I wont lose any sleep over it neither should you!

Only Bronze Silver and Gold winners are calculated in rankings at International tournaments, except Olympics and World championships where quarter finalists are also used. So if they get knocked out before that stage nothing changes.

Im going to have to put up some details on how the rankings are done, so it makes it a bit easier for people to understand.

Someone else does them for the web-site, so will have to ask him.

Good questions, cuz he isn't. :o A "junior" in the U.S. is a boxer between the ages of 8 and 16 and you currently can't compete in the "senior open" division unless your are 17 or will be by the tournament age determination date. [/quote]

Who is Mike Smith, who is listed as the source of the Junior and Cadet World Rankings? I am curious to know how these rankings were calculated. Since now one else has taken the initiative to start a Jr./Cadet World Rankings, I am taking it for what it is - a start. (and also entertaining to me).

Nope Boris Georgiev is still active just lost to Frankie Gavin at EU Champs

Boxers are ranked in weight division of there last medal winning tournament Frankie Gavin boxes as Light Welterweight other than major tournaments, like alot of boxers who fight outside there weight. Gavin is 64 kg at the moment so thats why i put him there. Zou Shiming is another example.
