5 time featherweight world champion - the ageless manuel medina????
ps: there is no chance that warren will make this fight as even at 37 medina has enough in the tank to beat a very fragile champion like arthur
saying that though it still would be a very good test for arthur
how about this guy for arthurs title defence
It will be interestng - Medina vs Arthur.... Think Medina will box his brains off early on, but Arthur's strength MIGHT get him through in the end.Autobarn wrote:dunno. medina was no world beater after naz IMO. after that he was just a recycled guy for British guys who hold world titles.
I'd love to see Soto get a look in as I think he's had some hard luck and I think he's better than he looked v Guzman.
I wouldn't mind seeing Kelley vs Arthur either.... Kelley hasn't looked too bad of late.

rocky jaurez perhaps? maybe not next fight but somewhere down the line. a name but very beatable.
Re: how about this guy for arthurs title defence
I see those names Medina and Juarez and think that it must be someone with more in the tank, but seriously, these are two great names compared to what we are likely to be dished out as his first 'challenger'. Has Samuel Kebede worked his way up for another crack yet or what?!
Re: how about this guy for arthurs title defence
Doubt the ancient Medina will be available since he's likely headed to South Africa to lose a close decision to Baloyi after Baloyi fights off the undoubtedly stiff challenge from one Javier Alvarez (he of a 9th round KO loss to "Sledgehammer" Fana last summer)
Re: how about this guy for arthurs title defence
Javier Alaverez - name rings a bell.... is he the guy who smashed Michael Gomez, and then got completely school (in one of the best boxing performance I have seen in a while) by Medina?
Re: how about this guy for arthurs title defence
That's the one. After the Medina fight, he lost a one-sided decision to a local fighter in Argentina. That "earned" him a shot at Fana for the IBF title. Getting knocked out by a fighter who couldn't break wind was then enough to "earn" another title shot against Baloyi in South Africa in July. The IBF should get shot for allowing such shite, but I guess all the other governing bodies do the same (WBO with Erdei, WBA with John)stujones wrote:Javier Alaverez - name rings a bell.... is he the guy who smashed Michael Gomez, and then got completely school (in one of the best boxing performance I have seen in a while) by Medina?

Yuriorkis Gamboa demolished Kebede last year.steve689 wrote:I see those names Medina and Juarez and think that it must be someone with more in the tank, but seriously, these are two great names compared to what we are likely to be dished out as his first 'challenger'. How about Arthur v Gamboa, LOL
