Is Kel Brook the unluckiest boxer in history?

Post by scrap iron »

For the last two or three years it seems Kel Brook has been lined up for some big fights only to see them scrapped through no fault of his own. He twice had Gary Young lined up (I think Young even had home advantage) only for the Scot to pull out twice. He was scheduled to fight Tony Docherty in Cardiff (again home advantage given to his opponent) only for the Welshman to pull out. I'm sure he was also lined up to face someone else (Barrie Jones I think) around this time and that fight fell through as well. Now this year he was twice scheduled to face British champion Kevin McIntyre on May 3 and June 14, but Sports Network have twice pulled the plug on these shows. What exactly does this guy have to do to get someone to fight him?? Has any other fighter been unluckier??

I feel realy sorry for Kell, to train for week's for a hard fight only for the guy to pull out at short notice and be replaced by a journey man is bad enough but the last two shows have been called off apart from the fact he's missing out on good fight's what about the money?, does anyone know why this fight has been called off?

i know from a good source that mcintyre has not recovered from his back injury yet so i find it hard to believe that the fight will take place on this date.
