Seeing recent forum posts mentioning old-time Canadian boxing, I think a thread devoted to that topic is in order--much like the "Classic American West Coast Boxing" thread. Let's see what becomes of it. For starters, see the Wiki page on "World Title Fights Held in Canada." Does that page need updating? Have there been any more world title bouts held in Canada since December 2003? (IBF doesn't count.) (I'll also merge one other recent Canadian topic to this thread.)

I remember ITV showed clips of the dangerous but erratic Roy Gumbs hammering Hollett twice in Canada in the build-up to Gumbs vs Mark Kaylor.
Clyde Gray was,imo, the best Canadien fighter of the last 40 years.His first fight against Chris Clarke was a classic!
Gary Summerhays, though largely forgotten, was also a good fighter.He won a great bout against Tony Mundine.
yes gary summerhays was a good one. his brothers were also good. johnny and terry summerhays. terry had a win over clyde gray before both were pros. johnny was lightweight champ of canada.
Here's a trivia question for you old-time Canadian boxing fans (BoxRec Editors cannot play): What was the main event of the card that inaugurated professional boxing at the historic Montreal Forum (which presented its final boxing show on December 15, 1995)?
I'd like to hear more about guys like Carl Tremaine, Frenchy Belanger, Jackie Callura, Maxie Berger, Arthur King, Frank Battaglia and Charlie Belanger.

Leo (Kid) Roy vs. Bobby Garcia on April 20, 1925 it is! The Forum would present boxing and hockey for over 70 years. The building is now a shopping mall and movie theatre.
Also on the Topic of fight locations , How about Tommy Burns Arena in Calgary Alberta ?.
Unfortunately it was torched right after the Pelkey vs McCarty fight . This fight was unfortunately
the last one for McCarty :( .
