He just destroyed him. Was accurate with his punches and found his rhythm very quickly.

Just a shame Joe Pasquale wasn't needed!

It's probably a much-needed cheque for him though.

Lopez should go after Vazquez after a couple of title defences. Vazquez has really been through the meat grinder yet keeps winning. What a fight that would be.

I agree but I never expected a blowout like that.

Yeah, odd to read about De Leon's amateur pedigree. I thought Bunce's analysis about De Leon being technically sound was wrong.... he is as sound technically as Mayorga - always has been.

But what power from Lopez - looks like he will be a champion for a while.... Naturally successor to Vasquez I think.

Wow did not expect that - I thought Lopez could outbox De Leon as we all know he as crude as they come but De Leon had showed in the past as well as possessing ko power he is very tough with a solid chin. Lopez looks to be the full package - amateur pedigree, great boxing skills and now knockout power - the superbantam-weight division is looking interesting. I hope Vasquez hangs around 122lbs so we can find out who the best superbantam weight is.

lopez just rejigged the superbantam map. they'll all be working out what to do about him now. my pick - molitor - should keep a low profile with an easy-ish defence of his title for a few months to see what lopez will do next because the guy looked fantastic last night.

Amazing fight and a result you could never have predicted. De Leon is a tough bugger and although not terribly skilled he is very hard to beat. Lopez made it look easy, he has got skills and a lethal KO Punch. I think it will be a long time before anyone gets the better of him. Nice to see you starting a thread Chesh me old mate.

Definately believe the hype! I'd like to see him in with Marquez or Caballero next. I wonder whether De Leon was caught a bit cold.
