Young Joe Louis

Post by Palais »

Who's who;

Young Louis, H, Detroit / 80-81 / 2-1-0
Young Joe Louis, (Eddie Taylor), H, Chicago, 75-93 / 32-20-1
(Young) Playboy Louis, H, Scranton / 81-84 / 2-2-0
(Search; Playboy Lewis)

I think things might be mixed up here. Is this really three different boxers? Or one? or two?

I'm looking for a Young "Playboy" Louis who went into a bout vs Billy Joiner in 1981-11-13, Detroit, with a 13-2 record.
Joiners last fight before returning to full time Ohio Highway Department.

There where a least two fighters with the names "Young" and "Louis" in the early 80's.

Caution: Just because someone claims to be 13-2 before a fight, it really doesn't mean that he actually is.

I doubt that Playboy Louis went up against Billy Joiner in his third fight and Eddie Gregory in his fourth.
Time will tell?

RRB 86-87 has Young (Playboy) Louis with a record of 13-2 before fighting Billy Joiner in Detroit. I guess you were absolutely right Palais :oops:
No mention of fighting Eddie Gregory though there is a fight against Eddie Gregg on May 11, 1984.
