Anyone fancy Diaz to upset Pac

Post by Max Molyneux »

Diaz Is a boiled down light welter and I could see him constantly coming forward trying to outwork Pac.

I thought Morales won but Morales boxes more, but Pac swarms with fast hands and Is much smaller than Erik too.

Diaz staying close trying to outwork him could take the sting out of Pac's shots since he's too close to put enough reach for power In too.

I thought Pac lost widely to Marquez too and don't understand why there was a lack of people seeing how controversial It was too.

Had Marquez winning 116-111. Pac looked very limited but fast with hands but was open to timed counter shots like I thought.

Looks like him, he's starting to resemble Buddy McGirt now.

Yeah it was quite well publicised that Vargas is supporting Diaz.

I wouldn't be surprised if Diaz wins. I'm not necessarilly predicting it, but it was a decent pick on Facebook, so I plumped for it.

I think Diaz is better than given credit for and Pac is starting to slip. The size difference could also be telling - light-fly to lightweight is a hell of a climb, even over many years. This could be one division too far, and Pac hasn't looked as good as SFW as he did at FW and below.

Diaz was unimpressive in his last 2 fights, maybe he underestimated Montano last time out, but against Morales he was in top shape and got outsped in that one, saying that though i did score the fight a draw.
I just can't see him punching hard enough to really hurt Pacman.

I think this will come down to who is busiest in there. Pacquiao is faster but his power is untested at 135.

I think you must be one of the only ones who thought that. It was a competitive fight, but there was no controversy with the result.

I can't see Diaz winning tonight either, he's a strong, come forward type, but he's pretty limited and Morales pushed him close when way past his best. Pacquiao should win clearly.

Well Diaz's strength will make it interesting - I think Pacquaio will win, but if Diaz makes it close then it might mean Pacquiao should move back to Super Feather. Ability wise they are on a different level - Pacquiao's lack of strength (possibly) at 9 stone 9 could be a problem. But not enough for him to lose IMO.

Diaz is 7/1 to win on pts. I've splashed out £1.29 on it!

Are you mad?!!!

5 points margin for Marquez? I felt it was a close fight and had Manny winning by 3 points.

Thought Marquez deserved the nod quite clearly, but admit some of those rounds were close. Pacman just didn't land enough shots for me.

I thought Marquez just nicked it, but wasn't upset with the decision. Those two could have 100 fights, and every one would be close.

As for tonights fight, I can see Diaz getting the better of things early, but Pacquiao wil start to bust him up and go on to secure a comfortable decision. Diaz is tough, but that's about it.

I doubt Top Rank would let Pac fight Diaz if they thought the chmap had a serious chance of winning.

I had it a draw but gave the edge to Pacman has he delivered the best punch of the fight and was the aggressor.

Yes I had Marquez beating Pacquiao twice but in terms of boxing ability Marquez is streaks ahead of Diaz. Diaz is tough but he's limited and slow though he has tons of heart but he was in life and death with a shot Morales - Pacquiao's weakness is that he can be outboxed - Diaz is not capable of that. The fact that Diaz is so hittable leads me to predict a stoppage in ten for the Pacman. Will be shocked if Diaz pulls off the upset.

I think pacman is getting close to being taken - Not sure Diaz is going to be the one to do it though, not got the boxing skills.

It both were natural at the same weight then no one could see Pacman losing but Diaz is one of the biggest lightweights ever - fornicate knows how he makes weight, whereas this is Pacquaio's first fight ever at 135lbs. I am guessing that Diaz is going to outweigh Pacquaio by nearly 10lbs and has Pac ever been the smaller man in the ring in his super featherweight days because he was massive at that weight. If Diaz lands one of Pac then that's going to be interesting because the punch that killed Santa Cruz would stop Pacman, no doubt. It's just a question of can he catch Pacman like or will Pac's speed and power be too much for Diaz.

The only interesting thing about the fight is Pacquaio has never been in with anyone who hits as hard or is as strong as Diaz. In terms of skills Pacquaio is clearly a level apart and Diaz will be there to be hit.

I give Diaz no chance in this one. He'll hang in there until the end and may even have a few good moments, but he'll lose by at least 4 points on the cards.
