Hard to feel good about this good deal
After years of Running the Glory Gym in Gettysburg Pa. the very large and well equipped program closed it's doors. I heard about the equipment for sale and went up on Sunday to pick out some things. I went back on Tuesday in a large truck to pick up a ring, bags and much much more, but the whole thing was bittersweet knowing that a well run program was closing it's doors. I would have rather bought the items retail and never gone up there. It was a beautiful first class gym with new hardwood floors, three elevated rings, 4 floor rings, 8 speed bag platforms and tons of other stuff, but most of all, a good coach that ran a good program.

7 rings for one gym? WOW! Were they all set up inside the facility? Our gym has 1 ring. We are hoping to get into a bigger facility where we could have 2 or 3 rings.
It is always sad to see a boxing gym close. I also love to see a new one open. It is part of the life cycle to have new ones open and old ones close.

Not money problems but personal problems. The gym had 2 elevated rings set up and 1 elevated ring in a trailer for travel. The floor rings are not set up but the gym is big enough to set up 2 or 3 of them for sure.

A nice big gym. It is a real shame.

I took a look at their website. Very well done. I'm truly sorry to see such a nice gym close. Small towns and rural areas need boxing gyms too. I started boxing about 100 miles northeast of Gettysburg in another small town. If the Glory gym isn't there for those kids, they will find other less productive things to do to occupy their time.

Wasn't the Penn State boxing team training out of there?
Re: Hard to feel good about this good deal
No, PSU is in State College about an hour and a half from Gettysburg. The Gettysburg College team trained at Glory gym.rmz wrote:Wasn't the Penn State boxing team training out of there?
