The WBC decided that the bout between Humberto Soto and Francisco Lorenzo for the interim superfeatherweight title is declared a non-contest.

Now the Nevada State Athletic Commission needs to agree.

I thought the respective commission is the only authority to determine decisions. The sanctioning body, however, could withdraw the recogniton as a fight for its title if that complies with their rules.

The WBC has withheld the belt from Lorenzo and while I really don't think they should do anything other than provide the belt, I must say, Lorenzo is piss poor as a champion and doesn't deserve it.

But the WBC even ponders declaring Soto the winner by (T)KO and hand him the belt. The official result would remain an L-DQ, though, by which Soto would have won the interim title .
