yes i was there. stacy looked sharp but could have been more active. gg national champ ernie garza got beat convincingly by detroits james "lil red" smith in definitly the best bout of the night. garza weighed in at i believe about 130lb. smith at 126lb. the bout was non stop exchanges from bell to bell with smith landing the cleaner more decisive shots. jarvis edwards lost his third fight to national gg champ craig lewis by dq after arguing with ref ron cunningham.

Never, ever argue with any official, especially the ref who is in the ring with you! :o Good for Ron!

Good for Stacy. RR is not a push over so that was a good victory. RR gave Jarvis Edwards a tough bout last year and from what I have heard, he gave Craig Lewis a tough time earlier this year. Ryan Rawls keeps losing close bouts to these guys.

Mr. Detroit - please give more info about the bouts that you saw. How was the Lewis - Edwards bout going up until the time of the DQ? Any other interesting bouts?

What happened with Craig Lewis turning pro? Was this a stay busy bout until he can have his pro debut?

jarvis came out strong, as usual but faded quick and started takeing alot of shots. he had his moments but didnt have the wind or defence to keep up with lewis despite haveing an allmost 2:00 min. break during the third round to fix his headgear. alot of the bout was a wrestling match. jarvis went down twice, the first ruled a slip, the second ruled a knock down, witch jarvis argued and was disqualified for. untill the dq most people in the crowed had lewis winning the bout. im sorry dennis, i dont remember alot of the bouts or fighters from the show. i can tell you that kyle mcnutt fought and won his bout with a boxer from i beleive gary in. and josh cameron from border city easily outpointed a boxer that they call "tyson" from somewere in your neck of the woods (west michigan). i hope that helps a little.

"Tyson" is Anthony Willis and he is Kyle McNutt's teammate from the Rosario Boxing Club in Battle Creek. Thanks for the info.

What a great night of boxing it was! 15 exciting bouts. The Garza-Smith bout was awsome. I wished there would've been more people there to see it.

It was not an RSC, but a retirement. Stacy got dropped, but got right back up. He was ready to go and the ref was going to let it continue. Stacy's corner threw in the towel as it was one week before the start of the Golden Gloves. They didn't want to risk an RSC-H with its 30 day suspension or an injury so they stopped it. It was the right move. Stacy was winning the bout prior to the retirement. I'm sury Stacy would love a rematch.

Stacy was not ahead. I'll upload the fight so everyone can see it. I thought it was a knock down also until I seen the DVD. I thought Wynten dropped him with a left, but he caught him with a right, he pulled the left when he seen Stacy was virtually out on his feet. If he had followed thru with that left, Stacy wouldn't be fighting in the Golden Gloves.

When you see this video, count the blows in that second round. The first round was tit-for-tat with Stacy landing a nice shot to the face at the bell, but I'll give Stacy the first round. But this video will show Stacy getting punished in the second round. If it had went to the third, Stacy would have gotten hurt, cause that's when Wynten pours it on.

If Stacy can come down to 178lb, he'll see Wynten in the Nationals. The kid is 17yrs. old and has only been in the ring 3 yrs.

I saw the bout live. You must be the 17 year old boxer or his friend or relative. Hiding behind an anonymous screen name. I am Stacy's friend. My son has boxed Stacy about a half dozen times over the last 10 years and has also been his teammate, roommate and friend. I have coached against Stacy and have also coached him against other boxers. This is a sport and you don't seem to understand it.
You are a good boxer and defeated Stacy on that day. A differend day, who knows. I do know that you lost to Kyle McNutt last fall so obviously you lose too. I wish you well.

I was at that fight, and no, I'm not his father. But I know everytime Wynten is invited to Michigan they lie about the weight. McNutt came in at 201lbs and Ellis came in at 172lbs, and McNutt ran his backside off in the third round. And it was a controversial decision.

I'm from Illinois, I do know the kid's father, and I try to catch some of his fights. Yes, I was there when they claim McNutt weighed in at 178lbs....Then introduced him at 201lbs. See Google, that fight is on there at 201lbs. Heck, the kid was only 16 at that time, how old was McNutt?

Have McNutt come down to 178lbs. Give the kid his props. And Primp is my real nickname.

I gave him his props. He defeated Stacy on that night. I said he was good.

As far as Kyle, I don't know what he weighed. I do know that Kyle is 19 so he is 2 years older than Wynten. Like Wynten, my son Jordan also defeated a lot of older guys when he was 17. He is now 20 and he now faces both older and younger guys.

I will keep my eyes out for this young gun and will probably see him out in Salt Lake City. Have you started your GG tourney in Indiana?
