Im waiting for the first quotes calling it a "Super-Fight"

Re: Hatton-Malignaggi in Vegas at MGM Grand
Although it's not a Super Fight, it's a very big fight for the Welterweight division. The number 1 against the number 3 (according to Boxrec).observer1 wrote:Im waiting for the first quotes calling it a "Super-Fight"![]()

Although not a "Superfight" it's still an intriguing fight between the two top fighters at 140lbs.observer1 wrote:Im waiting for the first quotes calling it a "Super-Fight"![]()
"Superfight" is just silly.

De La Hoya has said it will arguably determine the pound for pound No 1

I have a sneaky feeling this might not be as easy as many people think.rhino222 wrote:i still think that malignaggi will outbox hatton, i really do.
Hatton may have one eye on Pacman next year and not be focussed on the job in hand...
Re: Hatton-Malignaggi in Vegas at MGM Grand
Thought I was the only one who fancied Malignaggi, good to see I am not on my own. Have won a few bob on Boxing this year so have played some of it up on Paulie. I have £140 at 11/4 with Sky bet and (now this will sound crazy I know) I have £30 on Paulie stoppage in 7-9 at 33/1` and £30 on Paulie stoppageHappy Slapper wrote:I have a sneaky feeling this might not be as easy as many people think.rhino222 wrote:i still think that malignaggi will outbox hatton, i really do.

10-12 at 33/1.
The way I see it is if Malignaggi is to win he has to land plenty on Hatton and despite the fact he does not hit hard by most standards, if he is landing enough to be winning the fight not sure Ricky's punch resistance is what it was say for the Tszyu fight when he took everything.
Just think this is much closer than many feel and hence thought I better put my money where my mouth was.

Does the gift against Ngoudjo make Malignaggi no2 or is it the debatable win over a Witter leftover?banjo wrote:Although not a "Superfight" it's still an intriguing fight between the two top fighters at 140lbs.observer1 wrote:Im waiting for the first quotes calling it a "Super-Fight"![]()

I had Malignaggi winning both of those fights(just!) so yeah I do rank him no2.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Does the gift against Ngoudjo make Malignaggi no2 or is it the debatable win over a Witter leftover?banjo wrote:Although not a "Superfight" it's still an intriguing fight between the two top fighters at 140lbs.observer1 wrote:Im waiting for the first quotes calling it a "Super-Fight"![]()

I think the deciding factor will be Paulie's hands. I thought his hands were cured, but obviously after his last fight they aren't. I too fancy the underdog in this. If doesn't break his hands, he could stop him.
What some people don't realise is that he's had hand problems since his tenth fight, and they weren't fixed properly until just before the Cotto fight. And don't forget he wobbled Cotto in the early round in that fight.

Im sorry how is this even a competetive fight?
This fight is in the same league has Hatton- Lazkano.
Only guys rating maligniaggi are the Hatton Fans and British pundits.
It's all about $$$ and how much Hatton can make out of naive, gullible and "Loyal" Fans.
We all saw what happened when Hatton went Prime V Prime against a Solid Opponenet. He was KO'd.

Because it's 2 overrated fighters who happen to be the best in a shit division which has no B class fighters never mind A class.observer1 wrote:Im sorry how is this even a competetive fight?

Utter nonsense...for starters most the people on this thread are going for Paulie so that pisses on your non-competetive figt theory(also the Lazcano turned out to be quite competetive),,,now Floyd is just a solid opponent??? Tommy Hearns(you heard of him?)...got KO`d off some "solid" opponents aswell so i guess thay means Tommy was only fighting them for the money...of course he was you plank i`s called boxing.
Re: Hatton-Malignaggi in Vegas at MGM Grand
They are only rating Paulie because they don't want Hatton to win mate. Not to mention Paulie is a better technical fighter anyway. But being better than Hatton does not neccessarily mean that you are a good fighter.HughJohnson wrote:

Lol, says a lot about Hatton then doesn't it mate. 99.9% of the members here never heard of Lazcano before. His record was hardly worth shouting about, yet he still managed to make Hatton struggle and work hard....

Just to make it clear, if by beating Hatton, it doesn't make you a good fighter, then surely you must regard Hatton as pretty poor, and the people Ricky has beaten must worse yeah?
Re: Hatton-Malignaggi in Vegas at MGM Grand
Hatton is a very good fighter, don't get me wrong, but he is hardly something special, or the Legend some of his die-hard fans make him out to be. He did one good thing, and that is do what many British fighters dont like doing, that is going Prime for Prime against the best, that was against Mayweather. We all know what happened then.Coco wrote:

Hatton is good, but people need to stop kidding themselves.

Would you rate him no.1 at 10 stone? and where would you place him on a pound for pound list at the moment?observer1 wrote:Hatton is a very good fighter, don't get me wrong, but he is hardly something special, or the Legend some of his die-hard fans make him out to be. To answer the substantive question, yes, I'll go. Can always find a business reson to schedule a Thursday business meeting in LA, and if I'm going to be so close.....
Be interesting to see if they schedule the Calzaghe v Jones fight a week before and after. If so, its a great little New York/Vegas trip (I'm not bigging up the merits of the fight, merely the date and location)
