Hoppa in Disgrace Again

Post by Beltane »

Hoppa, long time NRL bad boy, fell foul of the ref in a park Rugby League final last Sunday and was sent off for a head high tackle.

The receipient of Hoppa's high hit was of course the half-back for the opposition, who was heavily concussed and taken to hospital for precautionary scans. Spectators said that Hoppa's shot hit the half-back from behind and was a shocker. It is expected that Hoppa will be suspended from 4 to 6 weeks and this will bring the curtain finally down on Hoppa's many seasons of shame.

At least with Big Bob facing him soon, Hoppa won't be able to blindside him and will be forced to fight someone of comparable size, unlike his above efforts against the smallest player on the football park.

Seems odd that hoppa would be playing footy this close to an aussie heavyweight title fight.
Time taken off from training or running due to injuries could be very detrimental

In today's Manly Daily, Hoppa has hosed down his tackle and believes his shady history of on-field misdemeanours played a part in his dismissal.

But from the upcoming fight with Big Bob perspective, Hoppa reported that he didn't come through the incident and game unscathed either, nursing a bruised shoulder and sore left hand from the high tackle.

Potential easy pickings for Big Bob.

Hoppa send-off was deemed sufficient enough penalty for the halfback's head attacking Hoppa's arm.

Now Hoppa is clear to play in the local rugby league grand final today, and the poor old promoter is praying that Hoppa comes thru the footie and is fit enough to climb into the ring in a couple of weeks.
