Jeff Smith's height

Post by klompton »

Jeff Smith, aka Jerome Jefferds, aka the Bayonne Globetrotter's height is incorrect. He is listed as being 5'10", his height was closer to 5'6" or 5'7"

I'll dig up a source for you but Id like to know the source for it being listed as 5"'10" then. Smith wouldnt have been five ten if hed worn platform shoes. He was shorter than Greb who was only 5'8" and stood considerably shorter than Carpentier who was just a tad over 5'11". He was almost exactly the same height as Darcy who was 5'6" but Ill get you a source.

Smith's height is listed in his WW2 draft card as being 5' 8.5" Which is shorter than the boxrec listed 5'10" but I still think that is even too tall. As I said before he was shorter than Greb who was 5'8.5" and much shorter than Carpentier who stood between 5'10 and 6'. Ill have too dig through my files and see if I can come up with a tale of the tape from one of his fights.
