Martin Gethin seems to be underrated, in both his recent fights he was the underdog, but came through with impressive stoppages.
Would anyone say Derek Chisora is underrated?

No, Skelton wouldn't have won a world title.

I don't think Froch is underrated. He's well thought of - he just hasn't fought any big names yet & that's not really any fault of his own.mark thompson wrote:Whats your thoughts guys ? If Skelton had got into boxing a little earlier I don't think he'd have won a world title & would probably be retired by now. I would very easily rank the prime Williams & Sprott ahead of a prime Skelton, and I wouldn't have considered either of them to be world class.

I have to disagree with you there John, i think a prime and up for the fight Williams was probably better than Skelton but not Sprott.johnswan1 wrote:I don't think Froch is underrated. Derek Chisora is a very good shout why didn't he have a crack at prizefighter ??

Think he was one of the reserves for the first Prizefighter, and the second show coencided with the Warren promotion last weekend.mark thompson wrote:Old bones Ian wrote:Martin Gethin seems to be underrated, in both his recent fights he was the underdog, but came through with impressive stoppages.

So Warren needed Chisora to fight on that show.
I've heard good and Bad about Derek, but his KO win over Sam Sexton looks good now.

Looks very good indeed now, also Skelton beat Sprott after only 12 professional bouts Sprott had, had over 30Old bones Ian wrote:Think he was one of the reserves for the first Prizefighter, and the second show coencided with the Warren promotion last weekend.mark thompson wrote:Old bones Ian wrote:Martin Gethin seems to be underrated, in both his recent fights he was the underdog, but came through with impressive stoppages.

Jamie Moore, many dont think he's above British title level, in that respect underated. I'd give him a good shout against virtually anyone in the division.

I'd go with Ryan Rhodes for the same reason.Wales wrote:Jamie Moore, many dont think he's above British title level, in that respect underated. I'd give him a good shout against virtually anyone in the division.

The one thing you can say with asurance is that Carl Froch is NOT underrated.
If anything, overhyped.
You cannot have seen too much of Skelton if you believe by starting earlier he'd have been a World Champ.
He has done well with his career - it would be wrong to expect any more.
I'm gonna keep a close eye on Chisora. I like what I hear.

Ryan Rhodes has been around long enough though hasn't he. He's a known quantity really, and in that sense is neither under or over-rated.
Murray or Brook perhaps. Possibly even Kevin Mitchell. Who knows.... until they are tested.

Re: Britains must underrated active boxer ??
not sure if anyone will agree but chirosa reminds me a bit of gary mason
Re: Britains must underrated active boxer ??
Then resorts to throwing single shots against lazcano and gets caught repetedly, or perhaps the struggle with collazo and to a degree urango. Tszyu was his prime.55 thousand to fight a mexican lightweight.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Ricky Hatton

Can anyone remember Wire TV? They sometimes put boxing on and Gary Mason was the presenter one night. Has to be the worst presenter ever. Poor sod got into a mess and asked somebody the same question twice.rhino222 wrote:not sure if anyone will agree but chirosa reminds me a bit of gary mason

I would say Colin Lynes, in terms of hype. I think he is geniune lower end of the world's top ten but never get thought about in terms of a world title fight.

I take your comments on board - but the fact remains he struggles at the lowest level of World Class ( Urango and a past it Lazcano) he is a good level Euro fighter with a fan base!
IMO hw never proved he was number 1 over in the UK.
His own fault!
Overrated!
At one time someone said he was the best british fighter ever!
Over R A T E D!

DG go home !!! You are so anti Hatton it's unreal
Re: Britains must underrated active boxer ??
He hardly struggled with Urango, and I think a good case could be made for a shut out against Lazcano - that wasn't a struggle.

This is a BS thread.
No fighter is under-rated or over-rated untill he steps up through the levels. It is that obvious.
Hatton is neither under-rated or over-rated – he’s a guy that is very popular and very good at the top end of the sport - something that any young fighter should aspire toward and try to surpass if he can.
