If you were a contender in the 70s and early 80s, what chances can you get to win a world title if these guys never met as champions or moved up in weight...it would have been very hard for a contender to win a world title, right?
Welterweights: Sugar Ray Leonard for the WBC and Thomas Hearns for the WBA
Featherweights: Salvador Sanchez for the WBC and Eusebio Pedroza for the WBA
Super Welters: Mike McCallum for the WBA and Thomas Hearns for the WBC
Lightweights: Roberto Duran for the WBA and Esteban DeJesus for the WBC
Jr. Lightweights: Julio Cesar Chavez for the WBC and Brian Mitchell for the WBA
Are there other examples?

No problem for me. I was never a contender.
