Wakefield doesn't have a football team it's a "Rugby Town", it used to be surrounded by Collieries (these two factors made for a very 'macho' culture), it has one of the highest densities of pubs of any town in the UK (in relation to size) so it was (is) an ideal breeding ground for developing social inadequates.
