Punishment not stern enough in my view. What happens when the next person is arrested for carrying a knife & they don't suggest anything about making a donation? Do they get sent to prison because they cannot afford to make a substantial donation or because they were found in possession of a knife?

It should be one rule for all, but its clearly not the case by a long shot!

Hmmm...

I've been going in nightclubs for 8 years and I can count on one hand how many times it's kicked off, hardly a "beacon of violence" is it? Mind you, I live in a civilised part of Britain.

British justice is shit. The same rule should apply to all. If you carry a knife then you intend to use it. Using a knife on someone in a fight is attempted murder. Using a knife in self defense is no mitigation. I do however have a baseball bat just inside my front door.

A few years ago I had two con men trying to talk their way into my house. I revved up at the one in front of me and they left. I decided after that to have a baseball bat by the door just in case the same should happen again and they didnt just walk away. I believe in the right to defend yourself, your family and your property but carrying a weapon outside on the streets, pubs and clubs is another matter.

So did Tony Martin when he splattered that dirty little gypsy and look where that got him, you're right British justice is a joke. The police in the US wouldn't bat an eyelid at an incident like that but over here? Oh no no no, you can't defend your home.
