Promoter allegedly has accepted libel damages of £115,000 from the publishers Random House for defamatory allegations published in Ricky Hatton's autobiography, 'Ricky Hatton: The Hitman, My Story' and will also have legal costs paid totaling almost £2m.
The book wrongly claimed Warren, who had managed and promoted Hatton, had pressurized his fighter into taking a fight against Carlos Vilches in 2004 when Hatton was not fit to fight, also that he had conned Vince Phillips into accepting a small purse for fighting Hatton the previous year. Thirdly, the book falsely alleged Warren had lied to News of the World readers in his column with the newspaper when he said Hatton had made over £6m while being managed by him.
"It has taken me two years to get justice and an acknowledgment that these baseless allegations were completely false," Warren said. "However, even though the book was pulped in 2007, it has aggressively sought to defend these hurtful and distressing allegations against me and dragged me through many weeks of court hearings, all to no avail."

Lets see what he says if he loses against Calzaghe.

That's a shit load of money though, isn't it? The £115k isn't much, but the £2m in legal fees is huge. Makes one wonder whether they will have made any profit at all from the book? And would Hatton himself suffer financially as a result of this?

Does anyone have Roy Jones's number? Seeing as he's happy to throw stones from his glass house.

Exactamundo.
I can cope with two faced people, but forty two ?
As for this affecting Hatton. No.
He was not a party to the proceedings.

My Fighters worked with allegedly over a Period of Time. In that time He paid Top Dollar and Managed most of them. He never took a penny off His cut, also He lent money to Fighters who were struggling sometime more than there next purse. I know He lost a few Thousand doing it. Theres always two sides to a Story, I always found Him a Man of His word.

Therein lies the problem, Scrap.
For every example such as yours (and I do accept 100% what you say because I have seen it first hand) there are the exact opposite polarity stories.
When things are going his way, he's an angel, but when the tide turns ......

I was listening to 5 live yesterday lunch time when they had him on. He apparently (sorry, it should be allegedly, shouldn't it) wrote to the publisher's of the autobiography when he heard on the grapevine some of the innacuracies that were in the book. According to Frank, these letters were written before the book went to print, and he received no response. If this is the case, Random House are absolute idiots.
