Fidel LaBarba: 1st Sports Ticker-Tape Parade

Just wondering if Fidel LaBarba, and his 1924 Olympic boxing team-mates, were the first boxers to be honored by a NYC ticker-tape parade. It appears that the Olympic team as a whole were the first athletes to receive such a parade, as noted here. If the boxing team participated, then they would be the first boxers to be so honored.
