"In the blue corner..."
"In the blue corner..."
I hate this way of announcing the winner. How am I supposed to know what colour corner each fighter has?
Why doesn't he say their bloody name instead?

Yes, I can see how that would be hard for you.
Two colours two corners.
Two colours two corners.
Re: "In the blue corner..."
when was the last time they announced the winner by the corner? I cant remember hearing it recently...
Re: "In the blue corner..."
Mark Burdis is the twat that primarily uses this awful technique.

He's the only MC in the pro's that I've heard say this, but he is awful in every department.Dioufy wrote:Mark Burdis is the twat that primarily uses this awful technique.
If you go to amateur shows, they always announce the corner colour, then the boxers name, it sounds ok in that context because everyone is used to it.
Maybe Fwank sent him along to some amateur shows in the hope that it would improve his technique.
Re: "In the blue corner..."
Is it a major problem... he does say the name after.
Re: "In the blue corner..."
It is an anti-climax. I don't immediately know who has won, and I have to work it out from the fighters reactions. The fighters themselves seem a little unsure of who has won, which results in a confused conclusion to the fight.stujones wrote:Is it a major problem... he does say the name after.
This technique was used by the M.C. of the Oakey vs Cleverly bout to announce the winner.MatthewS wrote:when was the last time they announced the winner by the corner? I cant remember hearing it recently...
I didn't know I had to memorize the corner colours of both fighters at the beginning of the fight.twenty six wrote:Yes, I can see how that would be hard for you.

Do you always know which fighter is in the red corner and which is in the blue corner?
Re: "In the blue corner..."
it ruins boxing for me, i'm turning to MMA
Re: "In the blue corner..."
he does the scores wrong for me he say one one seven instead of one hundred and seventeen points.
Re: "In the blue corner..."
Well is it me or do the scores on German TV give away the result before the 3rd one is announced (if its a UD)... they always seem to have the left hand score to the fighter who is on the left hand side of the split screen. Either that or it is rediculous coincidence most of the time.
