big bob vs valuev

Post by buster007 »

just watched this replay on youtube and was surprised that bob wasn't ko'd.
he was hit with plenty of whoppers that landed flush but took them well. i know some people question valuevs ability but he hit bob with plenty without putting him down. it was 5 years ago but it shows if a fighter can take a good punch as well as land some bombs of their own then they have a chance against some of the less talented belt holders.
there are a few suspect belt holders at the moment in different divisions imho. anyone agree?

might be a chance for some more aussies to step up and have a crack.

Valuev is a light puncher, especially for someone so big. it just shows how good Camerons power must be. The single punch KO of bob was an awesome thing.

If you mean aussies at HW then from all accounts meehan has a good chance to fight Valuev, and may give him some trouble.

i actually mean aussies in general.
you don't need to be marvin hagler to win a world title. there are some aussies who can win in the near future if they give it a good crack.

Valuev could not KO Mirovic in Nikolai's 33rd fight. Meehan KOed a younger Bob in Kali's 12th fight.

I wouldn't mind seeing Meehan v Golota... but Valuev should win and hopefully Kali can get his shot soon after that.

Meehan's No1 challenger for the WBA. a dodgy organisation at best but surely that make you a mandatory at some stage?

Latest WBA ratings have Meehan as No 1 heavy contender. Seems they were impressed with his last fight.

is there a time frame he must get a shot within being the No1? i doubt it with the farce that is WBA.

He might get an "interim" shot, due to the "ordinary" champion being obliged to fight the "champion in recess" after his next voluntary.

Brilliant. Then we just need the "champion" to lose to one of the Klitschko's so they can become "Super Champion" then we can have two more fighters fight for the "Regular Champion" position, then the "Interim Champion" might get a shot at the "Regular Champion" who may then get a fight with the "Super Champion"... So in four or five years we might just have one WBA heavyweight Title holder! Woooo!
