Tito vs Pavlik - who'd win?
Tito vs Pavlik - who'd win?
this isn't really intended to give any pointers towards to the Pav/Hop fight, I was just thinking though it'd be a hell of a fight in its own right. The Tito who wiped the floor with Joppy, versus todays Pavlik.
admittedly I haven't seen enough of Pav, just the Taylor fights, but obviously he can bang and Tito's chin isn't the best. But I'd still like Trinidad in this. The 160 version (not that 175lb caricature vs Jones), anyone with less than a great chin and great defensive schooling, I'd take Trinidad to KTFO. Pav to get nailed by a Tito left in the mid-rounds. Anyone got Pavlik here?

Depends on the the hand wrapping is supervised, but by this stage, I'd still probably go for Trinidad.

Tito is the better sharper puncher, but Pavlik is far stronger at the weight, rangier, relentless and a punching machine himself. I lean towards Pavlik, I have a feeling Pavlik will go on to put his mark down in the history books

Yeah, but Trinidad was reeeaaaallly good when he was in his prime. And there is a certain type who beats him, which is not at all like Pavlik.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Tito is the better sharper puncher, but Pavlik is far stronger at the weight, rangier, relentless and a punching machine himself.
I still can't get over the hand wrapping thing. Takes the gloss of his career, for me.

Prime V Prime
Trinidad wins,
Trinidad wins,
Re: Tito vs Pavlik - who'd win?
pavlik in 8-10 rounds..
Re: Tito vs Pavlik - who'd win?
Pavlik's much bigger than Tito. If you had a prime Tito and a prime Pavlik, Pavlik would have all the physical advantages. Pavlik's jab alone would be a massive obstacle for Trinidad to get past.

Prime v Prime - Trinidad easy.
Now? Big KO for Pavlik. Tito's way, way, way past his best.

Excuse my ignorance, people, but what's the story with Tito's dodgy hand wraps - I thought that after the resta-collins fight they were supervised by someone from the other camp?
Pavlik wins easy now - Tito was carried by Jones in that fight. At their respective primes I'd still edge to Pavlik - Tito never beat anyone of Taylor's calibre at 160.

At their peaks what a lovely fight. Surely both would hit the canvas.
I can't get that picture of Pavlik on queer street against Taylor out of my head and whilst he showed incredible recuperative powers I think a peak Tito would have put him away.
Trinidad in 5/6 rounds but both fighters down, possibly several times.
Like a Middleweight Hamed-Kelly.
