african heavyweight information

Post by IKOMONIYA »

1. 'Biko Botowamungo's correct spelling is Botowamungu. This needs to be corrected.

2. He also pulled out of his fight with Pele Reid after the THIRD round, not the fourth round as you state. The result was an LTKO3. I have the tape. He put Pele down this round but injured his shoulder in the process.

3. He was not knocked out v Vladimir Klitshko. After five rounds Biko stayed on his stool whilst his trainers argued with the referee, claiming Vladimir was using dirty tactics. After five minutes, the referee had enough and ruled it a TKO.

4. Joseph Chingangus second round knockout of Lajos Eros in 1996 was for the IBF Intercontinental Heavyweight Title if you want to add this information.

5. I personally disagree with the unneccesary description of his fight with Pele Reid. This is subjective and should be removed.

6. You could add Joseph pulled out after five round with Vladimir, claiming injury.

Thankyou for listening!
Best regards!

Thank you for the information.

I have corrected the last name spelling and have added the note regarding the Klitschko fight.

Regarding the Chingangu-Eros fight, are you certain it was the IBF Intercontinental title? The records I have access to indicate that Obed Sullivan had that particular title in 1996.

Do you also happen to know where (city) Biko was born and the name of his trainer and manager?

A description of a fight is never unnecessary as long as it's accurate

Hello!

Thankyou for adding the information. However, the Pele Reid fight need to be corrected. Biko pulled out after three rounds, you still have four. And as i said, the result was an LTKO3.

As for his city i could not say with certainty. He is from the Democratic Rep of the Congo. Biko has family in Mbuji-Mayi but i could not say whether he hismelf is born there he is over 40 years old. I suppose i could find out for you.

I must apoligise for the Chingangu IBF title. I remember at the time Jospeh came home to a massive heroes welcome in Lusaka, Zambia, because word had spread that he had won the IBF World heavyweight title, but it turned out to be a junior version!

I assumed this was the intercontinental title. Whichever other title the IBF have in this division, it must have been that.

Again thankyou!
