Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Gents, so I'm genuinely interested to see if I'm in a minority of one of this, but all week I've been going back and forth with regards whether to pay for the Hatton fight or not, and I've finally come to the conclusion I'm not going to bother. I just can't get excited by this match-up and there's nothing on the undercard lighting my fire...
Is it just me?
Is it just me?
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Im not paying for it I will listen to the radio ( if I can be bothered)
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
I'm half interested to know how younger Hatton will get on with Tackie, and I'd like to see what older Hatton has left against a really live dog, which Lazcano sadly wasn't. Not interested enough to pay for it though.

Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Hatton's at or near the end of the road and there really isn't a better fight for him at 140 (with the possible exception of Bradley). The fight should be very competitive, but its PPV-worthiness is another matter. I'm buying it, as I'm one of the mugs who always does!
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
I think it's a good value PPV. I'm gonna get it.

This and Khan vs Prescott are the only two I've ever taken a pass on, but I just think the main event is going to be a really ugly spectacle and I don't give a monkey's about Matthew Hatton to be honest. Couple that with Prizefighter already appearing to have run out of steam a bit and it's a perfect storm scenario for me.. at least I won't resemble a zombie in work on Monday for once
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Anyone know the exact time that Hatton and Malignaggi will be entering the ring?
I'm guessing around 3:30am UK time?

If Hatton is poor against Malignaggi then I think Bradley is too big a risk. Just think if Hatton was beaten by Bradley, Bradley would be able to say he beat all Britain had to offer at the weight.chesh wrote:Hatton's at or near the end of the road and there really isn't a better fight for him at 140 (with the possible exception of Bradley). I think the US card is good. I think, given the coach change etc, I think its a 55-45 fight (Hatton's favour)... Hatton could look awesome, he could look ordinary - but I for one is interested in seeing how he looks.
Hatton vs Tackie is a good fight, and its nice to see James Kirkland in action.
I think the Prizefighter thing is a bit horrible mind, I aint a fan of it, and I think this one looks poor.

Still annoyed we didn't get Angulo v McEwan though, stu. And no explanation why it was called off.
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Surely the way to go is with the 'net streams and make a fuss that that is exactly what you did as it's a piss-take liberty.
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
I find the streams like watching through vaseline-smeared cling film.

From what have seen in reports, Angulo priced himself out of the fight.Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:Still annoyed we didn't get Angulo v McEwan though, stu. And no explanation why it was called off.
McEwan has been sparring Khan and Karmazin

This could be Hatton's best victory - or there again it could be Hatton's last fight.
Onoe of those 2 is happening!!!

It does look like it'll be an ugly one. Both like to clinch, don't they.Deserter wrote:This and Khan vs Prescott are the only two I've ever taken a pass on, but I just think the main event is going to be a really ugly spectacle and I don't give a monkey's about Matthew Hatton to be honest. I'm giving it a miss also. There is a bit of value with some decent faces on the main undercard, and Martin Murray could make the Prize Fighter interesting. There's certainly a lot of fights tonight. There are fights out there that I can lose sleep over, but Hatton-Malignaggi isn't one of them.
Not sure I even want Hatton to win, if he's calling out smaller men like Pac and Marquez.

Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
how can any real boxing fan give this a miss ????
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
Lack of money? Not wanting extortionate cable bill to be any bigger? Combined with lack of interest in the star attractions?
If the Juanma Lopez WBO super bantam title defence was going to be on this card, rather than the DLH-Pac, I may have just decided to splash out. Or if the McEwan-Angulo didn't get scrapped I might have a different attitude.

Well i'll be buying it anyway, i think the fight has a good story (Hatton leaving his comfort zone, hooking up with Mayweather and taking on a very tricky customer in Macarinelleaggiooggiee)
Very interested to see Mathew vs Tackie too, seems like a hundred years ago that Tackie came to the MEN to put Ricky in his place

Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
I'll watch the repeat tomorrow and watch prizefighter live. Beats sitting up all night and watching all the crap in between.
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
well, im giving it a miss, having to work from 8-5 tomorrow kind of made the decision for me. the prizefighter could be interesting. i wonder if the peterborough lad renda could do some damage.
Re: Giving the Hatton fight a miss....
I'll be giving it a miss but only because at present I only have Setanta through Free Veiw. I am interested to see Adrian Gonzalez, Lee Beard's son, as I understand he was the reason the whole partnership between Floyd Snr - Beard - Beard - Hatton - Hatton - Mayweather came about.
Apparently he has a lot of talent and I see he is on the undercard.
Good luck to Ricky but superfight this is not.
