some of the "Tough Guy Contests" bouts are included.
Most of the tough guy competitors were inexperienced
and had no previous experience.
Then in reviewing some of the pro bouts, some of the competitors records
prior to fighting Racette are not so good.
Take the case of Earl McLeay. In the mid-sixties he was an okay amateur,
but leading up to the Racette fight, Earl was stopped in four straight.
And, the game goes on with many others such as Lew Lockwood who had lost bouts in bunches
before being another soft touch for the pride and joy of Vancouver Island.
Then there was the Harvey Steichen fight where there was some controversy over
who was the Pacific Northwest heavyweight champion.
It would be interesting to know what authorized boxing body dreamed up
the Pacific Northwest title or was it just another promotion gimmick :??
