Moorsey confident of pulling off Italian Job

Post by TheGoods »

Spoke to Jamie the other day. Top bloke and he's in bullish mood ahead of Piccirillo. Hope he does a job on him and then really kicks on in 2009 as don't know anyone who would begrudge him a world title shot (apart from maybe Mrs Piccirillo).

Good luck Jamie.

Piccirillo is no mug, he is a decent boxer, not the biggest puncher but has a decent dig at domestic level, as alot of Italian boxers he does like to show out to the ref, i can see him trying it on when Jamie lands a few body shots. He'll try and get a point or 2 deducted from Jamie this way.
Jamie has to keep his cool, not get dragged into a mauling fight, for me pressure is the key to beat Piccirillo, keep the Italian in defensive mode, not let him get into any kind of rythum.

At 38 Piccirillo is coming to the end of a long career, i'd still expect him to turn up in good condition though, i've never seen him look out of shape.
In a tough fight, i can see Jamie pulling away from the 7th onwards. Then either Piccirillo retiring around the 10th or Jamie pulling off the stoppage in the 11th.

Looking forward to seeing Jamie live for the first time once Sam gets his thumb out his arse and confirms tickets.

And Jamie, when Shaggy gives you the Mayorga fight to watch you can thank me for that. ;;-)

Sorry to be kill joy, but with two months still to go and past experience of Moore getting an EBU champion in the ring with him, I'm not getting to carried away with the whole affair just yet. December 2007 was when Moore should have got his shot, he's shown incredible patience and professionalism in the meantime.

Despite his 38years Piccirillo is a top EBU champion and will still take some beating, but that will make it all the sweater for Moore if all goes well. :TU:

I so much want Moorsey to win the fight - a true champion in my eyes who deserves every success that comes his way - he has been patient and been very unlucky with both injuries and governing bodies who did not give him a chance when he was due one!!!

I would be just as happy Moorsey winning the European title as I was Clinton winning his world title and Lee Meager getting his British title shot!!! - a top top man in my eyes!!!

Good Luck Jamie! Will be a tough fight no doubt but a figure a late stoppage or points win for Moore. Should be a cracker - gonna try to make it to Wigan for this one.

Anyone been there before? I've got mates in Manchester, so I may have to get myself up there for the fight and make a weekend of it.

Some fooker put dog shit on my windscreen. I wouldn't mind but it was obviously fresh from a BIG dog too, as it took some getting off. I presume it was dog poo anyway, as I couldn't find any foot prints on my bonnet. :o

Rare folk in Wigan, or as the locals say fritning.
