if i walk around at 148
would it be stupid for me to fight at 152?.
Re: if i walk around at 148
The only other choices you have are 165 or 141, so I think 152 is probably good - at least you can eat. ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

how old are you?
how many fights experience do you have?
if you are relatively new, don't worry about the weight class quite yet. let's see how your body adapts to the stresses of training first. initially just get in the gym and train. when your coach believes your ready, you'll get in the ring and spar. then add somewhat serious roadwork. lastly, fine tune your nutritional intake, fueling your body with what it needs based on the training demands.
if you change all factors of your life at the same time you won't know which factor caused which results. every athlete's body is unique to itself. it may also be over whelming changing everything at once. do it in a gradual progression. its an asset to know how running and nutrition affect your body seperately. you will be able to easily adjust your running and food depending on where you need to be for your weight category.
the first time i walked into the gym for boxing i was 18 years old and 160lbs. within a month i was down to 140lbs and eventually fought at 132lbs.

I agree with Chad except my personal experience was a little different. I was 14 and 160 pounds when I started training. I didn't lose any weight even though I got thinner. I lost fat, but gained muscle and got taller. At 15 I was 6'2" and 165 pounds. At 16 I was 6'3" and 178 pounds. I then continued to grow to become a 6'6.5" super-heavyweight.
