His bout was scratched by the Maryland Comission because of difficulties with his scheduled opponent.

Dom stayed with us down here and they worked to get an opponent hard after his fell out, It will probably be on the next scheduled Prizefight promoting card in MS you can check that out at Prizefight promotions.com. After taking him to get a new suit and seeing how good he looked I nicknamed him Dominic"The Blade" Wade and it stuck. I took him all over to put him on TV and Radio and by the end of the day everyone was talking about The Blade. It was pretty funny.

Hal you looked fairly sharp in your cornerman's outfit. Maybe you need to be called the blade too.

verballistic wrote:the power of a good ring name should not be underestimated...it can make a big difference for a top-notch fighter!! looking forward to hearing more about him...he was part of the 2005 world U-17 team that has seen 11 of 13 team members turn pro already!! :o
It is sad that so many of them turned pro so young. Right now those guys would only be 18-20 years old. I know that the ones who turned pro or will soon are: Isiah Thomas, Dominic Wade, Dante Moore, Keandre Leatherwood, Ray Serrano, Jesus Mendez, Jerry Belmontes, Hylon Williams, Roberto Marroquin, Sammy DiPace and Luis Yanez

That would leave Tony Brinson and Robert Rodriguez as the two who haven't turned pro.

That has been changed.

By the way, Manny Taylor won his pro debut on March 19 in Woodlawn, MD. Taylor scored a first round TKO at 2:50 of the round against debuting Damien Butler of Glenarden, MD. He looked very impressive.
