OT: Vic Bushfires

Post by bollox »

Yesterday a few of us drove through the north of the state for work and went past several places affected by the fires. There was a layer of smoke hanging around for the last 200Km's and a few houses we saw had been burnt to the ground. Gruesome stuff when you consider the number of people that have died or lost their houses

If you can afford to I'd urge you to donate some money to the Red Cross (it's tax deductible)

I have a brother in law on a farm just out of Rutherglen. We are hoping like hell the fire at Beechworth does not head his way.

the fires are settling down a little. The beechworth fire is still 40 km from rutherglen and within containment lines at present. hopefully it will not travel that far.
