martin rogan take a bow unbelievably heart a novice 12 fights in has beaten the best heavyweight britain has to offer. Makes you think how these guys are training if at all, dont want to have a go at skelton because he has been a credit himself and gave everything tonight but this guy has shown more heart in a boxing ring than i have seen in a long time we all know the big man is limited but he deserves the plaudits tonight. well done martin rogan
just hope he doesnt go much higher in level surely a good living to be made fighting the british heavyweights rematch etc feel audley just got a little lifeline tonight

Re: rogan
Would be good to see him get a crack at the vacant EBU after beating the last champ in Skelton.
Was annoyed that Sky opted to show a Pac/Hatton promo instead of an interview with Rogan! They interview a bunch of guys after their debut's that have nothing to say, but don't bother with a fighter that has a great story like Rogan and has just won a title by beating Britains top placed Heavyweight. Shame on you Sky.

Could not agree more, this blokes time and again in the biggest fight of his life as the underdog and keeps producing. He just stopped a tough tough opponent in Skelton a few minutes wouldn't have hurt.

God, I am exactly the same. In future I am predicting a Rogan win, no matter the opposition.Asterix wrote:Martin Rogan![]()
Proved me wrong in the last two fights, and I'm glad in both instances.
Vitali/Rogan - Rogan KO inside five seconds.

Nah, Rogan would win at the weigh-in.Dioufy wrote:God, I am exactly the same. In future I am predicting a Rogan win, no matter the opposition.Asterix wrote:Martin Rogan![]()

It was also disappointing that they didn't show or mention Bendall vs McDermott or the Broadhurst fights.Cannibal wrote:Would be good to see him get a crack at the vacant EBU after beating the last champ in Skelton.

When Sky actually have a decent fight card they don't show half of it. Odd.
Re: rogan
But what a story, winning PrizeFighter when he wasn't the favourite, and beat the favourite in the final, then beats Audley when he's a 7/1 shot, and then knocks out Skelton after hurting him numerous times. I think I am in love with him.

What weigh in? Vit is such a pussy, he'd never sign for this fight, just get his brother to come instead. Who would then pull out as soon as is not embarrassing.Asterix wrote:Nah, Rogan would win at the weigh-in.Dioufy wrote:God, I am exactly the same. Re: rogan
Very very odd - i'd guess i'm not the only one on here killing time before Marquez v Diaz, so Sky could have used the 2 hours and filled it with some action and kept the likes of me entertained.Horse wrote:It was also disappointing that they didn't show or mention Bendall vs McDermott or the Broadhurst fights.Cannibal wrote:Would be good to see him get a crack at the vacant EBU after beating the last champ in Skelton.

Re: rogan
flippin brilliant - go on the taximan.
Big Rogies soon going to out rocky....rocky,
you can see it now.
Its a tale of a struggling actor trying to make it....then in an act of desperation turns to boxing at the grand old age of 36? up aganst top heavys in one night beats the three of them, then beats a household name and had to face serious opposition in the form of euro and commonwealth champ skelton. KO's him... and now FACES THE FIGHT OF HIS LIFE WITH HAYEMAKER TO BECOME THE ONLY SECOND IRISHMAN TO HOLD A WORLD TITLE.
You couldnt make it up.
Of course rogie will play the lead role, he actually not a bad actor.

Re: rogan
It really is a dream scenario "Rogie the Giant Killer" does it again. I dont gamble but if I did, I would have backed Skelton with confidence. I was surprised he beat Harrison but uttterly shocked he has beaten big Matt. At 37 he may only have 3 good years as a fighter left so he needs to hurry up. Forget Sprott, fight for the Euro which may well be vacant now. He might even go on and win a World title. For those of you who think Haye would finish him in a couple of rounds, think again. Rogan has a very good chin and he hits hard. Haye can be toppled and Rogan with his huge desire would finish him off. If he fought Haye and it went the distance Haye would likely win having the better boxing skills. Rogie needs to keep busy now, he is on a roll.

Re: rogan
What a great fight!!! Well done to Rogan, who I think is a good fighter and one wonders what he may have done if he'd have been uncovered earlier! He's not just a face-first brawler, he uses the jab well and head movement to get inside and his body shots were taking the steam out of Skelton, who It seemed to me, underestimated Rogan.
Great win and good luck to the guy and hope he earns a few quid. He was in excellent condition and he finished the fight brilliantly.

Re: rogan
I thought Audley would have too much skill for him ... and Skelton just too tough for him.
Very glad to be proven wrong on each occasion.
Where does he stand in regard to the european title? am I correct in thinking only the commonwealth was at stake?
Maybe a re-match for the european? .. yes please

Only the Commonwealth was at stake, but I think the Euro will be vacant now. Rogan couldnt fight for the Euro because he wasnt ranked high enough, but he must be now though.I agree, I had Harrison and Skelton winning over Rogan, so many of us were wrong.tonyevs wrote:I thought Audley would have too much skill for him ... and Skelton just too tough for him.![]()

Re: rogan
In Sky's defence the Board doctors insisted on both returning to the dressing rooms for check ups and no interview could take place and they went off air. Safety first chaps.
Re: rogan
wow i thought for sure skelton would win because of roggies inexperiance guess i was wrong eh :(
skelton muct of thought it was close not to put the EBU belt on the line
rogan is now a mandatory challenger for the euro belt
how much further can the chap go?
world title challenge im pretty sure he could hold his own with valuev atm win? i dunno anyone think he'd have a chance after upsetting th odds with prizefighter, harrison and skelton?
