Ramirez is fighting Ismailov on 11-04-09.
Is this fight for the vacant belt, or is Ramirez now declared as the official WBO Champion ?
Whichever way, if Macca fights Afolabi, what will that be for ?
Someone has told me it's for an interim version of the WBO strap.
I don't get it.
Can someone help out a thick Northerner.
WBO CRUISERWEIGHT - I'M CONFUSED

If we could all understand the way that sanctioning bodies worked, it'd take half the fun out of it...

Re: WBO CRUISERWEIGHT - I'M CONFUSED
Ramirez won the WBO Interim title in January, and was originally scheduled to face Enzo Macc on March 14th for the actual WBO World Cruiserweight title.
Ramirez said "thats too soon, I'm not fighting in March". So, the WBO made Ramirez their official World champion then (as he was already the interim champ) and decided the interim belt would go to the winner of Enzo Macc vs Alofabi.
Quite why we need an interim WBO champ when we have an active WBO world champion, I don't know-its not like Ramirez is injured for the next 6 months, he is fighting in April!
Presumably the winner of Enzo/Alofabi will take on the winner of the Ramirez/Ismailov fight sometime later this year, presumably on the next Khan/Enzo/Cook show if Enzo wins.
Confusing?
Just a tadge
