Not a big fan of TalkBNPSport, I know they're paid to irritate me, well done, they do a first rate job.

Buncey and Costello was good on BBC, is it still on?

I know Frank Maloney has spoken many times about a fan forum event, with panelists and an audience etc.

I listen to Talksport now and again then it puts me off for a few months when I realised why I stopped listening.

I once texted the show when that chap who has since died was doing a talk show in the morning. I reeled in horror as about a quid came straight of my balance for the text!

I don't like that dick head who does it with Ian Wright in the afternoon. They just sit blowing smoke up each others arses. I loved Wright as a footballer, before Van Nistelrooy and Henry hit the Premiership he was one of my top three strikers with Fowler and Shearer. I liked his programmes such as training all those porky kids trying to get them fit, but on the radio he trys to sound cool and kisses ass a bit.

How would I ever get these things off my chest if I didn't have Boxrec?

Oh and as for being too good to have a Buncey hour on boxing??....they wish...if they don't it's because most of their callers like looking at footballers backsides when they're not riding round Laaandan in black cabs.

What?? Did I ever say I was uncontroversial? :box:

Adrian Durham, total arsehole, but not as bad as Mike Parry.

It should be called Talkfootball......cricket gets a mention now and again and Dazzler has just joined the team, but otherwise it's horseshit.

Most of the pundits are former footballers - Brazil, Cundy, Townsend, Houghton, Martin, Wright etc etc.

fornicate all on boxing, and it's shite.

On a different note I've started a boxing column every week up here in the Daily Post and am getting some great feedback. Before that it was just rugby and football every day..

I agree with the majority, a decent boxing radio show on there is a must.

Absolutely, but they're too short sighted.

Most of their callers are west Ham fans

We should put together a programme to be aired on some no-mark internet radio station. All sit around interviewing each other. Seriously. It would be the single biggest event in Internet (and, indeed, boxing) history.

Or something.

Actually, after being my usualy sarky tw@ self in the initial reply, I did have a bit of shuftie into what internet radio entails. Decent software such as Shoutcast is free, and you can get pay-as-you go server space from a fiver (enough for as much as 10 shows worth). A half-decent mic and you're away.

Now all we need is some mug with a face for radio to run around arranging interviews, pay the server fees and give up their own time to host it.

...Err, that is to say all we need is a talented, charismatic host with a consumate knowlege of boxing. What's DG up to atm?

In all seriousness, even a monthly radio show on BBN would be very cool for us internerds.

Of course this is true and apart from Joe and Ricky not much boxing news makes it onto main stream radio. This is a shame as i feel the Setanta Bunce Boxing Hour has proved that their is a hardcore fan base out there that can be tapped into and then as read down the debate i npticed Steve Bunce posted the following:

I've offered the top man at TalkSport a weekly boxing show - I told him about the reaction to the Bunce Hour on Setanta but he was not moved - I'm stunned. We get more emails/texts for the Bunce Hour than any hour on TalkSport gets in calls - can you imagine if you mob could call the show!!
I think TalkSport is a bit too upmarket for boxing...yeah, right!

Adios.

now this i found a surprise as surely there is room on talksport for a weekly boxing show which could be on a sunday night for example when not much is happening. I really enjoy the BBC 5 live boxing show when its on and a mix with that and a the more relaxed approch Talksport offer would IMO be a winner.

I applaud your efforts, but I'd forget about Talksport: In fact, the station should be called Talkfootball, as the only thing they are interested in is Premiership & Champions League football.

I've longed for them to discuss other sports at length, but they just don't have the personnel that would be up to it.

Virtually every show is presented by an ex-footballer & most of them are not the brightest & the morning show with the dreadful Ronnie Irani can be painful listening.

It would be nice to get someone like yourself on the station, but I can't see the football obessesed Morris Dee going for it.

Buncey and Mike Costello occasionally have an hour on 5 Live on a Thursday night. It's always a cracking show, but tends to only be on when a big fight is coming up. Needs to be on every week, or at least have a guaranteed once a fortnight slot. Come on Buncey, put pressure on them. It's the best place for a show.

as people have said above , the bbc radio show is not on often enough. when its not on that often its easy enough to forget about it. it would propably get even better audiences if it was on more often.

maybe if it was advertised on the websites when it is coming up , more people would get involved and listen. id say a large amount of people dont even know there is a show on bbc radio or even if they do know about it , they dont know when its on most of the time.

to be fair to Buncey when on Doghouse he would post the day of the show to remind people.
fair enough but i never seem to know when its on and often forget about it. i think there is one coming up later this month. but unless i am reminded nearer the date , i will more than likely forget about it when the time comes around especially when its not a regular thing.
