Bhatia bollocks

Post by forcefraser »

Is Maloney responsible for the matchmaking for the Bhatia fight last night???

Between an overly matched opponent and yet another early stoppage for the ref (same ref - Davies) we were treated to the same old crap of British prospect taking a guy out in the first round, without learning a damn thing.

The ego is inflated by stopping these guys to the point where fighters think they are genuine world classoperators. Then they step up and get slapped back down.

BRING BACK PROPER SCRAPS (like the last fight on Friday fight night - good contest before being stopped on cuts)

Isn`t it time to step Bhatia up a level? My neighbour would have beaten that kid he was in with last night and she`s only 12 years old.

Bhatia needs his KO %age knocking up - put him in with someone who has been stopped 11 times.
As the meerkat would say: Simples.

I know what you are saying. What Bhatia really needs though is a real tough fight where he has to extend himself, so he and we can see what he really has. I think he is a great fighter who needs to move up a level now.

I dont know what he would have learnt from that fight last night. Get him in a battle and let`s see if he has the balls to grind out awin.

Fair play, I am not a boxing manager, so there are certainly other considerations to think about that I don`t even consider, but as a boxing fan, I get nothing from watching a talented guy like Bhatia in the ring with that guy last night. For his sake as well, the harder fights he has coming through the ranks, the more preparedhe is when the shit really starts flying.

Classic point in case, Enzo. Used to blowing guys away, but when in with a guy who fights bac and is not afraid to take his punches, he falls short due to the fact that he is not used to swimming in those sort of seas.

I'm agreeing with you - I think that fight just manipulates his stats. You can't expect the fans to believe that that opponent was expected to give him some rounds. That said, with a low KO %age he is getting the rounds in, an average of 4 per fight (59 rounds boxed / 14 fights).

If Maloney puts him in for the English (vacant AFAIK) I think he will do ok.

Apparently the origninal opponent pulled out so this was a last minute job just to keep him having a fight.

I rate Bhatia I really do!! Hopefully we'll see him Belly Vs Bhatia sometime soon!! Will make for a very interesting scrap!! The only reason it didn't come off last time was cos he was supposed to fight Simpson who got injured with 2 weeks to go!!

If Belly get's good notice he can be very dangerous!! Huge Huge featherweight..

Bhatia looks like a very good boxer, but none of us are going to be fooled into thinking that he's a puncher.

The KO stuff feels manufactured. They certainly got Callaghan at the right time. And Batia threw EVERYTHING at him. Compare to Asiku, swift, sudden, a few well placed shotd and BANG.

But if that helps to have Sky interested, if it helps to make a meaningful i.e. title fight...and if it gives Bhatia extra belief, then of course that will count for something.

He seems like a really good fighter, very stylish and fast, good viewing. Professional, compact look about him. Potentially he looks the best of the featherweight prospects.
