"I have been telling anyone that would listen, from when I could talk, I would be heavyweight champion of the world. I am now less than three months away. If I was to fight anymore heavyweights I would look even more devastating and Wladimir would have dodged me forever. He doesn't realise how good I am. I am going to rip that Klitschko jab up and shove it up his ass," Haye told The Daily Record "

I'm taking this fight to save boxing," says 'The Hayemaker'. "I'm doing this for Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and all the other great, smaller heavyweights of the past.

"I feel as though I've been sent by all the great heavyweights of yesteryear to clean up and save the heavyweight division.

"I'm a man on a mission to save boxing from this Eastern European invasion of Ivan Drago clones. The clean-up operation starts with Wladimir on 20 June."

"I will have to go out and destroy him because you will never win on points in Germany. That would put boxing in Britain back on the map. We are down a champion with Calzaghe gone and I want to make up for that big time,"

I like Haye, it's just what HW boxing needs and he's right about cleaning up the robotic eastern europeans. GET RID OF THEM ASAP

I'm really starting to think I may be going to Germany this summer!

This could be such a huge night for British and World Boxing in terms of HW Boxing :box:

I firmly believe that Haye will catch Wlad sooner or later. And you've seen how Wlad reacts to the slighest clean shots.

This has Sanders/Wlad I written all over it.

I expect a repeat.

I think Wlad will be shit-scared come fight-night.

If he goes out to knock Haye out then that's his best chance.

Fighting like he did against Ibragimov will be his downfall.

No doubt it's all bravado, but some other comments made by Haye have been disrepectful towards Vlad.

I'm practically 100% behind Haye and what I want to say is.....David Haye, you had better do the business otherwise you're going to look like a right c... 8)

That's what has me so worried. Haye is chinny, so let's hope Haye lands first.

People said that before the Mormeck win, that it was impossible for Haye to win if it went beyond 3 rounds. Turned out to be complete nonsense.

Remember that famous Holyfield quote about Lennox?

'He don't bend....he just breaks'

I think that applies to both guys in this fight...1st big shot either way does it....

Lt's put this HW title fight into perspective. Let's say if Haye was challenging a young and un-beaten Mike Tyson for the title, Haye imo would be blown away very quickly but he has a very good chance of beating Klitschko, that just goes to show how weak the HW division is right now.

True, but I think everyone knows that and I can't see it changing anytime soon.

I give him a 30:70 chance in this fight. he certainly has the ability to touch vlad but as i said, vlad has the ability to touch him and hes come on a bit from the sanders days. a good jab from vlad might put Haye down imo. The fight goes past 7 rounds and Haye has no chance. he's going to come out and try to land on vlad early, that will definitely be his gameplan because I don't even think he thinks he can get a decision in germany.

However, haye supporters should remember the lolenga mock incident when they assess his chances in this one.
you say wladimir has come on since the sanders fight, but i think you can say the same for haye regarding his fights with the likes of mock and thompson. haye's more patient, more precise,a nd is just an overall more experienced better boxer than he was then, he was only a novice. haye is now worldclass, not a novice.

i say speed is the big difference in this fight, and not just that but up close haye has the better arsenal, he throws hard uppercuts, hard hooks, even right hands up close while wladimir just wants to grab and hold up close.. it's that negativity from wladimir that gives haye the chance IMO.

I think it is a question of whether Haye can come underneath Wlad's attempts to hold and land the right hand over the top. Wlad is facing a live opponent, if there is a single doubt in Wlad's mind, he will crumble. Word! :box:
Thats not s famous quote, its a Diddly rant!

Wlad is going to be allowed to hold, lean on haye's back, then turn his back to haye IF Haye manages to get out of the vice like clutching.

Haye is taking a massive risk so hopefully he has a really good plan in there.

Haye is good at catching high up chins and sparking manufactured fighters so hopefully he lands the big shot that he undoubtedly needs to land.

Do you know who the world's greatest 'front runner' is? I'll give you a clue...

His first name's Wladimir. Second name's Klitschko. If you need proof, just watch his fights with Brewster and Purrity. Great on top, sure, but when pushed into a competitive fight...oh dear. That element alone gives ANYONE a chance against him.

Wladimir has never come from behind to win a fight. Fact. He's never come through predicament to win. Haye has. He's done it plenty of times, in fact.

I like the fact that Haye got aggressive with Mormeck after he got floored, bodes relatively well for him compared with the way Wlad's reacted to getting clcoked in the past.

If Haye falls into a pattern of having to spend all his time wrestling in clinches, it's going to be a very hard night for him.

I suspect that Wlad is going to fight very much as he did against Chagaev.

You mean Ibragimov?

Hopefully not. But Wlad always seems gunshy and tentative.

I really hope Haye doesn't get beaten like Herbie Hide vs Bowe or Vitali Klitschko. That would be terrible. Hopefully Haye can land that massive shot.

Terry D wrote:Brewster 1 was an odd one, people thought it was a knockabout war, with Brewster gritting it out and wearing Wlad down. In reality it was a fairly languid pace, Wlad made the crucial error of throwing more than 2 shots at a time, at least twice in one round, his tank emptied, his arse fell out, and he lost to a fairly limited, if fun, boxer.
watch that fight again.

klitschko did let go a lot of punches for him anyway. :box:

he had brewster hurt in that 4th rd and tried to put him away.

then gassed out.

fairly simple really.

nothing that odd about it.

i dont see haye as a great heavyweight, great puncher yes :!: i dont think he's very tough neither.

I think he will be confident before the fight but when he sees Klitschko in the oppisote corner thats when the nerves will set in he I think he will lose and if he loses he may aswell retire he's done everything at CW and if he loses he cant do it at at HW so he should retire
