Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
Here is the team that will be representing the Cincinnati franchise in Salt Lake City.
106-?
112 - Daniel Long
119 - Jon Cook
125 - Devonte Allen
132 - Yahman Phelps
141 - Donte Strayhorn
152 - Terrance Jarmon
165 - Charles Howard
178 - Landon Johnson
201 - Danny Calhoun
201+- Shaun Seymore
We have a fairly inexperienced team. The leaders of the pack are definitely Donte, Charles, and Danny.

Good luck coachgiovanni! My son Zeddie fought at your show. Hopefully, Zeddie will win next week and can see Donte again. You put on a great show and Zeddie and Donte had a great bout. Donte is a great boxer.

Donte is really looking foward to the nationals. I am really glad that you enjoyed our show. I really take a great deal of pride in putting on good shows. You are right donte and zeddie put on a great bout. They are the future of the 141 weight class.

Zeddie had his 100th fight Friday. His record is now 85 wins 15 losses
Re: Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
Zeddie's mom - the record you gave actually sounds realistic as opposed to many of those that I hear about. I know Zeddie has won most of his bouts, but has lost a couple here and there. Competing at the elite level makes it difficult to win a high percentage and he has. Great job. I hope to see him in Salt Lake City in May and then Akron a few weeks later.
Re: Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
It's good to see Danny Calhoun back down at 201.
Re: Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
One thing I taught Zeddie is that there is no reason to lie. I dont even allow Zeddie to say that he got robbed. Once that loss goes in that book, it a loss, period! The last time Zeddie lost was to Robert Easter out of Toledo in the Dec.2006 state Silver Gloves. I hope he gets to Salt Lake City also. Dennis I have to meet you so that I can put a name with a face.Dennis wrote:Zeddie's mom - the record you gave actually sounds realistic as opposed to many of those that I hear about. so did zeddie lose or win...his name not on the roster, but yall is sayin he will be in utah, which one is it
Re: Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
No, we said that we hope he makes it to Utah. Cleveland Golden Gloves finals are not until April 18, 2009. Zeddie has to fight Reginald Barnes and WIN to make it.random wrote:so did zeddie lose or win...his name not on the roster, but yall is sayin he will be in utah, which one is it
Re: Cincinnati Golden Gloves Team
I'm looking forward to seeing Zeddie in Utah. I kno our weight class is going to be packed and Robert Easter fights 141 lbs, also. Oh, for those who don't know me. My name is Donte Strayhorn.

Hey Donte.Your are a very talented boxer and you seem to be a nice young man. Zeddie has a lot of respect for you. And yes, 141 has alot of talent. Zeddie fights in the finals Saturday, so his spot is not guaranteed yet. Good luck, and hopfully Zed will see you in Utah!

You can tell alot about a person after a fight. When you guys got out of the ring you talked and your coaches talked. Some people have really bad attitudes, win or lose. Especially when you are in your home gym. Even though Zed won, it was an excellent fight. I'm a mom, so when you see kids show great sportsmanship, it's really nice. So, like I said, you SEEM to be a nice young man

Oh, of course! That is the way you have to be. There shouldn't be any animosity between any fighters and I have a lot of respect for Zed. We will continue to put on excellent bouts, whether we're fighting each other or not.
