Kevin Mitchell v Roman Martinez - WBO s-feath set for July

Post by CCCC »

Just announced on BBC.

Waddaya think?

I say he'll come up short unless he sorts out his defence. Gets hit too easily

Fair play. I agree, he gets hit too much as he comes forward, although it only seems to be the counterpunch that tags him, he's rarely beaten to the first punch. A really good fight.

Don't see how anyone can criticise this match-up (Cue: a bunch of people now doing so)

I would almost say it certainly is he was saying that on setanta the other week . He has got a warm up fight in the york hall between now and then. I know he may need that but with his passion for getting hit i would be fearful of a cut putting the world shot in jepordy

They'll need to put other attractions on, like a decent co main event, to sell it out.

Could they do it on Sky Sports 1 with the Olympians as the undercard?

If he's able to fight in a 'warm-up' in the next few weeks then that shouldn't be against a plum. It should be a final elimanator against Burns. But it won't be.

Should be a really good fight. Very tough one as well, for both boxers.

Martinez looks like he has a decent dig on him. Mitchell could find himself eating up flush shots throughout. Can he do that against a decent world class fighter?
